Red Sox currently blowing a 10-1 lead

Can someone explain to me how this is happening?

I stopped watching it was 9-1.  I turn back in the 8th and I see it's 10-6.  Okajima can't get an out and now it's 10-7 with the bases loaded and still noone out.

I looked up the boxscore and saw that Masterson gave up 5 runs.  Was it Delcarmen who gave up the hit and the runners were just charged to him?

It's definitely become interesting.

Reminds me of a game in the late '80s (wanna say '89) where the Sox blew a 10-0 lead at home to the Toronto Blue Jays.  I think it was Ernie Whitt who hit a game tying grandslam.

Pretty crazy stuff.

EDIT:  Hopefully, it doesn't come to that tonight.

Orsillo made a good point.  You know the universe is messing with this team.  Ever since the team left the field with 2 outs when they thought there were 3, things have completely gone downhill.

In my lifetime, this is easily the biggest redsox meltdown I've ever seen.  Granted it's not the one that hurts the most or the one that means the most (ie '03 with Grady Little and Pedro) but just in terms of being up 10-1 going into the bottom of the 7th and losing it...

The absolutely worst redsox choke I've ever witnissed.  Again...without including 2003

I totally jinxed the Sox today.  Was IM'ing with a Dodger fan and talking big time smack.  He told me I was gonna jinx the team and I said no chance, the O's suck.  Man, seems like every time I do that, they are actually jinxed.  In reality, I probably do it all the time, but I just remember when it comes back to bite me.  Horrible.
