I was thinking of something cool to talk about & wondered if yourselves & I were GM's, and we had the entire pool of Ex-greats & hall of famers. What 10 players would you choose to be on your team? Remember that just because they are the best, doesn't mean that they would be the most cohesive unit because then you would have to deal with EGO's. So please deliberate & let me hear your answers. State your starting 5, then your 5 reserves.

Mine would be

PG: Magic Johnson
SG: Julius Erving (Need a finisher for Magic)
SF: Larry Bird (Go-to-scorer)
PF: Tim Duncan (Quiet assassin & Defensive PF)
C : Bull Russell (Nothing flashy but the teams Defensive glue Rebounder & Shotblocker)

6th: Kevin Garnett PF (His energy, all-around game & presence would be just what this team needs. Tottaly unselfish)

7th: Hakeem Olajuwon C (Go-to-scorer from bench & Shotblocker
supreme)

8th: John Stockton PG (KG & Hakeem would love to play pick & pop with this floor general)

9th: Micheal Cooper SG-SF (Just the spot up sharpshooter I need filling in for Dr.J jumpshooting deficiency who doesnt demand touches I need coming off the bench & could lock-up the other teams best wing player)

10th: Lebron James SG-SF (When I need a athletic game changing type player who can re-direct a game thats not going in my favor, I call on this do-it-all athlete. I picked him because to this point in his career he is totally grounded & a trusting team player)

(Wanted Oscar Robertson or Jordan for my shooting guards but they would demand & command the ball from Magic too much & eventually cause my team chemistry in a great looking locker room.)

(Also it was very hard leaving off McHale & Havlicek as my 6th men but that is the decisions this GM had to take, I choose Garnett's energy & all-around skills)

Starters:
Sebastian Telfair- This guy can pass, shoot, slash, he can do everything. One word comes to mind when I hear the name telfair, and thats dynamic.

Tony Allen- Lock down defender. Once he fully recovers from his knee injury, he'll be a superstar once again.

Gerald Green- He is the superstar of this team. He's a born leader, and he'll cause nightmares for opposing coaches, night in night out.

Raef Lafrentz- He can be big down low, and can hit that outside shot. Really a coaches dream.

Mark Blount-He'll be a hustler and great rebounder, think of him as a hybrid of Perk and KG.

Bench:
Jiri Welsch-Go to scorer

Theo Ratliff-veteran leadership

Kedrick Brown- Really provide some energy off the bench

Marcus Banks- He and Kedrick will be lethal on fast breaks, they'll run circles around the opponents.

Antoine Walker- No celtics team is complete without him. (sorry i know he was a great player, still had to be on the list though  ;D)

nobody from the 60's Celtics (other than russell) or the 70's Celtics & Knicks - two of the most cohesive team-oriented groups in nba history.

i might go with:

g - magic johnson
g - john havlicek
f - bill bradley
f - larry bird
c - bill russell

we are talking about 'most cohesive' here - so why would you include jordan or james - great players, but guys who have had to learn to include their teammates.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce
