Look at Sheed hanging with Wilt, how could you not want this guy on your team?

Who Wilt sure, sheed ugh well yeah about as much as I wanted Starbury.  Can't have everything you want though so I'll begrudgingly get on board as well.  I reserve the right to say I told you so If this ******* gets a T at important time during the playoff game.

Ah a big Starbury fan too I see.  Don't worry he'll be back as well.  Now if only we can pick Telfair back up too everything will come full circle.  Look how good Stephon is with a young Bassy:

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

No wagon for me!  In fact, if there was a poll to ask who the exact antithesis of a Celtic would be..... my top name would be Wallace.  I have disliked his game and his attitude since college.  Red would NEVER have wanted him on this team and I don't either.  Sorry.

Hey OP: how could you forget this one (NSFW audio):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C-Ke0BMccg

Great OP though, I never knew he got ejected from the McDonald's game, and I'd heard about threatening a ref in a loading dock, but I never realized that was Donaghy.  Makes Sheed a little more sympathetic in hindsight.

One thing for sure though - can we really risk having Sheed AND Marbury on the same team?  I mean, we're just begging for disaster at that point, right?

latest from Chad Ford's chat:

Evan (Boston)
Speaking of the Pistons, where do you see Rasheed Wallace ending up? I'm hearing sheed could be wearing celtics green..

Chad Ford
That's the rumor ... Magic, Spurs and Cavs have also been rumored there. And don't totally count out the Bobcats. Sheed and Larry Brown have a good relationship.

A guy that plays defense, athletic, tall, is unselfish, and his teammates love him.

Yeah, I could see why Red wouldn't want him.

He is the perfect fit because

a) he plays defense.  The Celtics are a defensive team 1st.

b) he is tall.  Must have on the bench.  Works well with both starters and Davis/Powe/Scali

c) he is unselfish.  He has always put winning over his own stats.  That is what the Celtics stars do.

Sheed got kicked out of the McDonalds game? that's hilarious. I can just picture that.

If you can't see why Red wouldn't want him on the C's then you are blind or are ignoring his major faults.

"unselfish and teammates love him"??????

Are you sure you are talking about the same guy?  He is one of the most selfish player to ever play!  What is MORE selfish than getting stupid technical fouls that cost your team games?  What is MORE selfish than getting ejected in the 4th of a close playoff game?

Plenty of other guys play defense and are tall (seriously.... TALL is one of your criteria?).

As for putting winning over his stats, puuuuuuulease!!!!  How about putting his team before his tantrums?

Give me a Marion or someone else, shoot, I would rather have Robert freakin' Swift than this guy who was given MORE TALENT than almost any player ever and has had a career that nobody will remember for it.

Red took chances on players with prickly personalities and reputations for being a "cancer"; one such player was Dennis Johnson.

The concern with Rasheed is that he seemed to quit on the Pistons this year.  *That* isn't necessarily the type of character flaw that you want to overlook (although it worked for the Pats with Randy Moss.)

haha, i hate to break it to ya, but this ain't the 50's anymore! we need passion, emotion, and energy off the bench. everyone's so freaking concerned about his age, but what's it gonna matter? let the guy get T'd up every game, and he'll get suspended every now and then so he can stay rested for the playoffs!

that said, i'm so on board...do or die baby!

oh, how bout this nickname: ra-T'd? maybe i'll make a t-shirt...

i agree with your concern, but i do think this is sorta a randy moss situation...a talented athlete who's stuck on a declining and losing team. i think a change of scenery will do him much good.

I don't see the similarities with Randy Moss and I'm aware of his stint in LA (which was a horrible situation for everyone).  Sheed has directly cost his team several points at crucial times in games because he has horrible attitude. Moss also was being still at the top of his game can produce enough to make you forget about his transgressions.  As bad rap as Randy Moss ever got I never looked at him like I do Sheed.
