With Tanguay on record calling Sheed to Green (don't buy any of that Dallas garbage)...it's time to start the Rasheed Wallace campaign leading up to the start of Free Agency at midnight (sorry Jeff, there is most certainly a Need For Sheed)

The possibility of him ending up in a Celtics uniform would not only make the Celtics the most entertaining team to watch (and guaransheed a championship), but I'd officially hit the pinnacle of my fanhood.  Imagine a winning team, potentially one of the most talented in NBA history, with the addition of approximately 2.34 fall out of your seat laughing moments per game.

  • He's approximately 6'11
  • Extremely ugly
  • Has an egyptian pharoah tattoo running down his arm (http://www.espn.go.com/photo/2007/0524/nba_g_wallace_395.jpg)
  • Has worn his patented Air Force One's for his whole career
  • Huge bald spot on his head
  • Has the league record for most technical fouls in a season (40)
  • Charles Barkley has said he could be the best player in the NBA based on talent
  • Remains the only player to ever get ejected from the McDonalds all-american game (high school)
  • Won a ring in Detroit (2004), and then proceeded to buy everyone on the team WWE World Heavyweight Championship belts (http://www.harperwoodsbaseball.com/images/Latest-Graphics/sheed.JPG)
  • Allegedly fought NBA scandal ref Tim Donaghy after a game in the loading dock in 2003 and got suspended for 7 games
  • Can defend any positon, shoot the 3, post up, and entertain like no other.

Nice post, but no thanks. I just can't stand him, and I think we should get someone younger.

Sheed's definitely a guy you love to have on your team and hate if he's on the other - I'd down with that.  I'm not here to win over others, I'm here to win another title!

BALL DON'T LIE!!

I'm all for this move.  I've always liked Rasheed as a player & his sense of humor.  Sure, he can get into foul trouble, especially technicals, but he still has some basketball left in him & I know last year wasn't really one of his best, but I think it was probably motivational.  Losing Chauncey sucked the life out of that team.  Putting him with KG, a good friend of his, a winner, someone with that electrifying presence & emotion will help Rasheed bring out his best more often than not.

I think this is going to be a great move.  Just wait until you see Perk come out of the game with early foul trouble adn the matchup problems this is going to cause.  Not to mention, try scoring on a lineup that includes PP, KG, and Sheed up front.  They have length, and the two big men can block shots with the best of them.  Also, when your PG in that lineup has the most limited range, you're really going to see some exciting offense.

Tell me you're not excited for a lineup that has size, speed, and the ability to truly OPEN up the lane for Rondo...

The bandwagon is filling up fast, as it should.

Also the only player Ive seen get a Tech for just looking in a ref's direction... I like him as long as hes not going to get ejected every other game.
"Sam Cassell was heckling on the sideline when I walked down, He looked at me and was like, ‘You're getting the ball, I know you're getting the ball!'
said Allen.

And did Cassell, a man of many words, have anything to say after that?

"No, I told him he needed to wear a tie."

I want no part of Rasheed Wallace and don't think it's a good idea at all.

Remains the only player to ever get ejected from the McDonalds all-american game (high school)

Well that's kind of interesting...

OK I'm starting to warm to the idea...

That could be fun to watch I guess, but I'm still not completely sold...

"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

The versatility and shooting of KG and Sheed on the floor at the same time is indefensible--no one else available better meets our big man needs.
