I don't love Charlie V.  What exactly does he bring to this team?  Sure he can score, and that would be some help off the bench, but what else can he do?  He has height, but he doesn't play like a big man, so he doesn't really address our need of actually having a legit 4/5 backup.  He has the offensive game of a 3, but I don't see him being able go effectively guard 3s, let alone guard 2s.  And while he's fairly dynamic for a big guy, he's not a great playmaker like a Grant Hill.

I just feel like he's pretty one-dimensional and really doesn't solve a lot of our holes.  In many ways he's a Powe/Davis repeat, since he's a 6-11 guy who plays like he's 6-6.

I think it says something about Charlie V that the Bucks wouldn't even tender an offer (since they now can't sign him for a while i think).

Guess they're rolling the dice with Amir Johnson at PF? Keeping Kurt Thomas?

Thet also gave away R Jefferson too and I don't think it was on bad terms!

If we could get him great.  If not...no big loss.  He's not the answer to our problems though I think he would improve our size issue.  At the very least we could say goodbye to small ball.  Him and Power on the court would be fairly dynamic as a bench squad.  I would rather see Marcin Gortat as he would finally be the backup center we need...although again he will be another overpaid big man.

I love Charlie, I would love to see us pick him. He is a player we could use and I do not see him having A problem coming off the bench for this team, if we did have him he would be a legit back up for KG and KG would be able to rest. I also think with the likes off Cliff Ray around his game would also improve!! Charlie would live to be back in the New England area and UConn fans would love to have him.

We can't afford him.

even worse... neither can the celtics.  :)

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I think its great because he'll swallow up some of Shawn Marion's suitors and give us a better chance at signing him for the MLE.

WOULD LOVE IF CHARLIE VILLANEUVA CAME HERE! He would fill our need for a backup big man and is easily versatile enough to play the three... but I would only want to do this if he would come for the right price so we could sign another free agent or two along with him... (doubt he would come for the right price though).

He said a few weeks ago he would sign in Cleveland for the MLE.  He seems like a good fit for that team so I would expect him to go there.

I didn't think Milwaukee would actually fail to extend a QO to him.  That is just silly.  I mean they could have picked up a draft pick and cash in a sign and trade or they could have just not matched an offer.  It isn't like they have to.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Depends on how much they have to give AV. But yeah I'd say Cleveland is as likely place as any to sign him.

I wouldn't be too excited though, his overall play reminds me of Drew Gooden. Has all the tools and talent, but makes some awfully dumb plays.
