  • "My team about green RONDO roger that" - Fabolous
Quote
James spoke with Hudson shortly after he had been taken by the Celtics. He was already looking forward to learning from a competitive group of veterans.

“He was very excited, ready to get to work, ready to work out, ready to get to Boston and meet everybody,” James said. “He’s a basketball junkie, loves basketball. He loves to play, he loves to win. I kind of thought he’d be in the gym last night but I think he took yesterday off. But I guarantee he’s in the gym today somewhere.”

Like his first season at UTM, playing time is not guaranteed as a rookie on the Celtics. (In Hudson’s case, neither is a contract.) Head coach Doc Rivers preaches that minutes are earned, not granted, and rookies often end up in the NBA Development League or at the end of the bench for most of the season.

But Hudson is used to waiting. After all, he waited long enough to reach the NBA at 24 years old. James believes Hudson’s defensive toughness, court vision, and offensive range will be a fit for the Celtics once he adapts to their system and speed of the NBA. In the meantime, he expects Rivers will enjoy working with his former player.

“He is a very coachable young man,” James said. “He takes criticism well. He understands that you may get on him but you’re not necessarily getting on him as much as you’re getting on what he did. He wants to please you so he’ll do whatever he can to fix it.

Admittedly I've never seen this guy play but being the 58th pick in this year's draft makes me think Pruitt's probably a lot better than him.  I know we all get excited with Celtic Draft Picks but I'd guess more than 90% of 2nd round picks don't last more than 2 seasons tops.

Nothing personal against the poster, but I feel I needed somewhere to vent that this adoration this guy Hudson is getting is extreme.

With that said I hope I'm 100% wrong and he's in the Rookie Game in February  ;D

In his entire college career (2 seasons) he only scored in the single digits once. He was second this season in scoring, he avg'd 8 rebounds in 2 years as a point guard, and also shared the rock with 4.2 assists a game. The reason's he dropped were his age, background, and competition.... and when a good players goes up against less then worthy competition what do they do? they dominate. which he did. This kid is better than Pruitt. Gabe was a good scorer who played for a big school so he got the benefit of the doubt come draft time.. this kid is a dominating force who just gets doubted becuase his school wasn't big enough.

I think he's the same hight as Rondo, also with long arms and big hands.

draftexpress had him at 6 foot, another place as 6' 3" neither of which are the ideal height for a nba shooting guard.

that said, vinnie johnson was 6' 2", andrew toney was 6' 3". mark price was 6'. and stockton of utah was 6' 1".

so, if hudson really truely is a great shooter and has at least average defensive skills, he could find a place as an off-the-bench-instant-offense guy.

ha. honestly, at #58, i will be very pleased if he makes the celtics team at all. it would mean danny was once more a draft genius.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

About the height thing:  how tall do you think Eddie House really is?  He looks 6 foot probably, maybe an inch or two more.

Hudson is probably about the same.  By all accounts they have a similar skill-set.

If Eddie can have some success in the NBA even though he's small for a shooting guard and doesn't have a typical PG skill-set, I think Hudson has a chance.

Hopefully Troy Hudson that year him and KG ran the pick and roll every time and he went for 25+ in every playoff game.

He's 5'11" shoes off. 6'1" shoes on. But a Ludakris 6'9" wingspan
