Admittedly I've never seen this guy play but being the 58th pick in this year's draft makes me think Pruitt's probably a lot better than him. I know we all get excited with Celtic Draft Picks but I'd guess more than 90% of 2nd round picks don't last more than 2 seasons tops.
Nothing personal against the poster, but I feel I needed somewhere to vent that this adoration this guy Hudson is getting is extreme.
With that said I hope I'm 100% wrong and he's in the Rookie Game in February
In his entire college career (2 seasons) he only scored in the single digits once. He was second this season in scoring, he avg'd 8 rebounds in 2 years as a point guard, and also shared the rock with 4.2 assists a game. The reason's he dropped were his age, background, and competition.... and when a good players goes up against less then worthy competition what do they do? they dominate. which he did. This kid is better than Pruitt. Gabe was a good scorer who played for a big school so he got the benefit of the doubt come draft time.. this kid is a dominating force who just gets doubted becuase his school wasn't big enough.
How tall is he?
draftexpress had him at 6 foot, another place as 6' 3" neither of which are the ideal height for a nba shooting guard.
that said, vinnie johnson was 6' 2", andrew toney was 6' 3". mark price was 6'. and stockton of utah was 6' 1".
so, if hudson really truely is a great shooter and has at least average defensive skills, he could find a place as an off-the-bench-instant-offense guy.
ha. honestly, at #58, i will be very pleased if he makes the celtics team at all. it would mean danny was once more a draft genius.
