I personally think he would be a great fit as an MLE guy.  What do you guys say?

Playing against Rondo everyday in practice could completely kill his confidence.  Haha.  No thanks.  I'd rather concentrate the money somewhere else (backup wing w/ size or a big man) and sign a cheaper backup PG.

If kidd wants to play 10-15 MPG and will take the vet minimum or LLE, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, forget it. $5-6 million for Kidd to sit on the bench is a waste unless the plan is to trade Rondo, which I hope it isn't.

it would be a good fit for kidd, however i dont think he would ever play for the celts.  dont forget how the fans treated him a few years ago (rightfully so, i might add  :D)

Rondo and Kidd wouldn't be able to play together.  Two point guards that can't shoot? :-\

Kidd has become a pretty good set shooter over the last few years, he certainly isnt the type to create his own jumpers but he will hit the open ones. For comparisons sake

Rondo shot .375% on jumpers last year
Pierce shot .493 on jumpers last year
Kidd shot .528% on jumpers last year

However, id avoid Kidd because he will want too much money for a 15 mpg player.

What the Cs need at PG is a backup, not a starter.  No way do I pay the full MLE to Kidd (which is what it would take) for him to be a backup when the position can be filled cheaply with a vet.  More pressing needs are at backup wing and big man.

  • Rondo = Good
the only way to explain us going after Kidd (supposedly) is that Danny is still trying to find a way to trade Rondo.  Kidd is not a bench guy, and he's not a SG.

Square peg in a round hole. Not a bad player, but sorry, no place for him here.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

He would be a terrible fit, would not take the the minimum, and he is a total ****.

I say this happens only if we make another move, meaning a significant trade.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Kidd will not be wearing green. He will bet paid more than we can offer, and by teams that will offer him more playing time.

Yeah.  We really need a backup big man and a backup wing before we need a backup PG.  Like others said, on the outside chance he wants to play for the LLE or minimum, sure.  But otherwise, it doesn't make a lot of sense to pay big money for a position where Rondo can play 40 mpg.

Going after kidd just sounds like Ainge is continuing to try to negotiate an extension with Rondo.

Or that Ainge is still considering trading Rondo for Tyreke Evans, which would suck.
