I think Parker would be a great signing and great off the bench for the Cs.

But that is assuming the Cs have the financial ability to sign him, and based on today's news about the failed salary dump with Memphis , I wonder....

Although not a bad player, he's too old. I'd look at Matt Barnes or Josh Childress first.
Barnes is over rated

But he is probably cheap.  I would have no problem with Barnes coming to the Cs on a Maurice Evans type contract (3 yrs, $2.5M/yr)

100% agree. As long is his contract runs the length of KG's, I'd have no problem.

Yes, I do: we have a limited amount of roster sports as it is. Matt Barnes' position is already filled by Brian Scalabrine. I'd rather have someone who actually fulfills a need.

If we can't sign Grant Hill then I'd try to sign him... but much rather have Hill.

Barnes would fill the backup wing position.  Scal is a backup PF/C.  Scal isn't quick enough to guard people at the wing, whereas Barnes is.

Would rather have Sean Marion if there was some way we could get him to play here (doubt it) ... aslo would rather have Grant Hill but if not Anthony Parker is a very good option to have and is a proven player that should give us some good back up minutes to Pierce.

Scal couldn't play center if his life depended on it.

i'm all about the marion pipedream myself. i'm holding out hope. parker's nice. he seems like a pretty reliable shooter and he'd likely get some nice open looks on THIS team. seems like a really good fit.

Shawn Marion is a very good player but he's making 18M per year.  I just don't see any way for the cap figures to match short of trading Ray Allen.

I thought Marion was a free agent?  If he is, he's not making $18 mil.

Ok my bad, he is a free agent.  He was making 18M last year then.  I was going off this web page that said he was earning 17.8M with the Raptors.

But if he's a free agent he's probably looking for a max contract don't you think?  I doubt he'll accept a cut in salary from what he was making before.

Whooo! He's the only Raptor I like! He's step slow defensively but he hits HUGE shots. I hope they chase him down aggressively, he's a perfect fit, and he takes quality shots. I'd be willing to part with Eddie if he came to town, and that's saying a lot.
