He would be the perfect wing coming off the bench. He doesn't shoot from long range well, but does everything else. Can play solid D, has a mid range game and is a good finisher. He would give PP the rest he needs throughout the season and can probably be had for the MLE. Get it done Danny!

Marquis isn't what he once was a couple years back when he was hungry & looking for a decent living(Payday).

it's kind of hard to be hungry on a team with not much talent. You put him on a contending team where he has a set role and he will fit in perfectly. He is better coming off the bench like he did in Dallas when they won 67 and the year before when they went to the finals.

We need Artest & only a Artest type of player. Someone who is going to fight for & with his team whether they are 62-20 or 26-56. Losing should not breed bad habits & un-enthusiastic play ever. Danny should skip all other offseason plans like trading Rondo, Signing Sheed or Dice & get on the phone with Houston & work the lines. Yao uncertain, Tracy uncertain so I think he could be had. That move would trump every team in the NBA & put us back at 1.

What are you talking about? Tracy McGrady? yea that guy is exaclty the teammate you want..... He said that he hoped his team got bounced out of the playoffs last year because he wasn't playing, is coming off 2 years of injuries and has never been out of the 1st round. He isn't even going to be able to play until a few months into the season and you would have to give up Ray to get him. Wow I am glad you are not the Celtics GM...

I would love to have Marquis Daniels. He would be the perfect spark off the bench.  Get him, Danny!

Daniels is probably the second best choice for a wing after Grant Hill. He'll cost real money though, either the full MLE or a large portion of it.

The C's would have to fix their backup big man situation with the LLE or minimum contract players -- and it's a lot harder to get low priced high quality big man than it is to get wings in free agency.

I agree.  It makes a lot more sense to go after Hill with the LLE and then sign a big with the MLE.
do it

Well don't forget we stil have Scal and TA which is about 5.5 MIL in expiring contracts that we can deal for a big man like Diop or maybe even Jeff Foster . I just don't think there are any big men in free agency that deserve a MLE type contract. Gortat is likely to resign with the Magic and the only other Center out there is Zaza who IMO isn't very good. I am worried about Hill's health, yea he played a full season last year , but he is going to be 37 and has a history of ankle problems. I would rather go with Daniels who is a much better defender and much younger than Hill and then try to trade Scal and TA for a big man in a salary dump.

I'd take Daniels, although I'd hope he doesn't want too much money because he's not worth that much.

Those expiring contracts could become a lot more important if the team fails to get a quality big in free agency.

That's not a situation I want to be in, depending on someone to trade for Scal and TA.

Great...Another undersized wing to come in at the guard log jam off the bench... Hill and Marion are better to look at.

1) Marion isn't signing for the MLE. If he would I would be more than happy to sign him.

2) Hill is old and has ankle troubles. I wouldn't mind it if he can be had for the VET MIN and we can sign a legit big man with the MLE, but I  just don't think  there is any legit Center that can be had for the MLE...

Plus how is he undersized? he is 6'6 - 6'7 with long arms....
