CARBONDALE - Undrafted Thursday night, former Southern Illinois University point guard Bryan Mullins will get a Chicago Bulls jersey after all. Sort of.Mullins, a four-year starting point guard for the Salukis, said Friday he will play on the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls' summer league squads beginning in July. Mullins worked out for both teams prior to the draft, and was rumored to be a possible selection by the Celtics at No. 58. Instead, Boston picked Tennessee-Martin guard Lester Hudson, who will likely be on the team with Mullins."After my workouts, they had asked me to be on their summer league teams, and they were kind of waiting to see what would happen," Mullins said. "My agent and I talked about what we could do, if we should do one, if we could do both, and then my agent said we were going to do both of them."Boston's five summer league games will be played from July 6 to 10 at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, beginning at 6 p.m. July 6 against Utah. Boston's squad will play five games in five days, according to InsideHoops.com. The summer league games in Orlando will not be open to the public because of space considerations, according to the Web site. The roster for the summer league squad has not been announced.Boston's squad will be with summer league teams from host Orlando, Utah, Oklahoma City and a split squad from New Jersey and Philadelphia.Chicago, which plays in the NBA summer league in Las Vegas, has a five-game stretch beginning July 14 against Golden State at COX Pavilion. All of the games in Las Vegas are open to the public or can be seen on www.nba.com. The Bulls' team will also play five games, but not on consecutive days like the Celtics. Chicago will be with Cleveland, Denver, Minnesota, New Orleans, New York Knicks, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio and Washington.Mullins liked his chances a little more with the Bulls, who don't have the as much experience as the 2008 world champs in the backcourt. Chicago has six rookies on its current roster, including second-year star Derrick Rose and incoming rookie DeMarcus Nelson. Five-year vet Ben Gordon, six-year vet Kirk Hinrich, 16-year pro Lindsey Hunter and Anthony Roberson, a three-year player, are the rest.Boston has one of the best in the game at the point, Rajon Rondo, second-year player Bill Walker of Kansas State, and three others with nine or more years of experience in Ray Allen (13), Stephon Marbury (13) and Eddie House (9)."I think the Celtics are pretty tight with free agents. I don't know how many roster spots they're going to have," Mullins said. "I obviously have to play well. If I play well and don't play this year, it could be the year after that. I'm just kind of going in there with nothing to lose and to see what will happen."
