I predict Danny will try to get him to play overseas for a yr. He tried with Giddens, but Giddens refused. It's possible he already had a prearranged agreement with Hudson.

No... he tried with Walker and Walker refused.

He's basically the same type of player/pick Giddens was.

How come there was so much negativity surrounding Giddens, and not this guy?

And in my opinion, Giddens is and was the better prospect.

Giddens was picked 30th, he should be a better prospect.

Jr was a first round pick....

Hopefully both of them can give us some meaningful minutes.

Huh? Hudson's already 24 years old and Pruitt isn't ready at all. Why would Danny send Hudson overseas other than the obvious?

TP for that, also why would ainge need to have a prearanged agreement?

hudson is estatic he got drafted, he wasn't projected on alot of boards. I doubt he had much to say to DA except:

The kid will stay at worst case in the nbdl at least for this year. (and tear it up)

There hasn't been a draft pick danny hasn't developed or at least given a chance for a year or two to show themselves. (outside of erden who can't excel in his league so thats another story)

Giddens/walker will both get their chances off the bench and hudson will maybe this year if not most likely next.

Who knows maybe he will torch the summer league and danny has no choice but to keep him on board.

We have only 1 pg backup in pruitt who is unlikely have his option picked up , eddie house who is mulling on FA and is not a pg, doubt marbury will be back, so hudson is in a decent position to possibly be that backup pg.

He has a pro body and shoots better than most celtics players already. He just doesn't know the plays, hasn't competed against top level competition day in and day out.

He is already better than pruitt in my books and things should get interesting

That's not true. He expected to go late 1st/early 2nd. He even canceled a workout with us because he didn't think he'd drop that far.

maybe on some draft boards, but not on any of the late draft ones i had seen.

He is what he is, the 58th pick in an extremely weak draft.

I'd be pleasantly surprised to see him ever contribute to our team.

Am I alone here in thinking this kid is a huge long shot to even make this team this year??

Guys he's the 58th pick in the draft, his chances of being the 15th man on any roster in the league are only slightly better than Michael Jackson doing a farewell concert.

I think he ends up in Europe.

I with you on this one. He's a late second round pick in an extremely weak draft. Why waste a roster spot on him? People on this board talk about him being Pruitt's replacement, but that makes no sense to me. We've already invested two year into developing Pruitt so why start all over? Personally, I doubt he ever suits up for an NBA team.

Why? Because two years of developing Pruitt have gone absolutely nowhere. And this kid would be $350,000 ($700,000 w/ l.t) cheaper for a 15th man.

But yeah, I don't see him making a rotation anytime in the next few years. If he makes the top 12 this year, I'll be shocked, either at how good he turned out to be or at how bad our attempts at free agent signings turned out to be.
Go Celtics.

I think you hit it right on the head there paintit. If Hudson is on this 15 man roster this year it's because Danny had a terrible free agent and/or offseason and decided to take a flyer by keeping the kid on the roster and sending him to the D-League.

Not really. Maybe we make some trades that open up some roster spots. Maybe we spend all our MLE on one particular player that Danny really likes, and we're left with not much resources to fill out the whole roster... the 15th spot in particular...
