I am very concerned that he is already 24 years old.  His NBA career is practically half over.

What? If you're a good NBA player you last well past your 30th birthday.

Now I do agree that he's unlikely to improve all that much because of his age, that is why he was the 58th pick of the draft.

I don't think there's enough development spots to keep Pruitt, Walker, Giddens and Hudson all with the team.
Yes, granted the d league is there but have to figure walker, pruitt and maybe giddens will not go down.  I would consider TA as a development spot also, me thinks some of this list is going to be traded.  It will be a very interesting summer for Pruitt (who I like) if he shows the defense that he was playing last year great but needs more handle and start hitting the 3's (which he is very capable of) then the backup should go to him.  From the list trade value on all isn't great so contracts will come into play.  Giddens to me really has to show something or he's as close to cutting as pruitt.
walker just needs to pt he should have gotten LAST YEAR.

he seems like Pruitt's replacement.  Unless Pruitt has a fantastic summer and shows he's the quality backup PG the team needs (which he needs to do in order to avoid being cut IMO), I thing Hudson replaces Pruitt on the roster.  no reason not to bring the kid on as the 14th spot on the roster and see if he can develop into something for next year.

Pruitt replacement?  I can see that, but I also see Eddie opting out of his final year.  If Hudson can give us anything, and I am rooting for him, it will be bombs away.  As for his defense, like any rookie we won't really know until he's had a couple years under his belt.

I am a little dubious about him being a "good" NBA player.  Maybe competent but not much more than that.

only read about hudson from online reports.

seems very strong, very tough.

outstanding shooter but shares the ball. carried his team. lead the country in scoring i think.

the reasons, it seems, he was available at #58 were:

he is a 6 foot shooting guard.

not really quick.

did not play against top opponents often, so hard to judge his ability.

hey, if this kid actually can make the celtics roster, i consider him to be a great choice by ainge. at #58, if hudson can play at all in the nba then ainge did a good job.

I do get the idea that Doc has told Danny he'd play a young combo guard, but Pruitt is too passive to give playing time, and Danny has come back with "You want a combo guard who isn't passive?  Here's one for you!"

I believe so, that is when all players with ETOs and teams with options need to exercise them.

Am I alone here in thinking this kid is a huge long shot to even make this team this year??

Guys he's the 58th pick in the draft, his chances of being the 15th man on any roster in the league are only slightly better than Michael Jackson doing a farewell concert.

I think he ends up in Europe.

Probably right, but you never know. Especially since Pruitt could very well be cut.

Nope. I'm with you. He's basically Allen Ray 2.0 in my mind.

that's certainly a possible conversation between them.

I think Hudson's main purpose is to push Pruitt this summer provided Hudson gets to play in the summer league.  Either Pruitt shows he's got the skills and drive to contribute this year or the C's won't pick up his option and they'll keep Hudson if he outhustles Pruitt for that roster spot.  Why continue filling a spot with a player now going into his 3rd year that isn't ready to make the 12-man game roster?

anybody see a potential Linsey Hunter type?

Ball handling skills will be the big question for me...
