Shaq, gone. Amare, Leandro Barbosa, supposedly gone.

Steve Nash said he'd sign an extension, IF the Suns were committed to winning now. Seems like that's out the window.

Knicks Trade:
Chris Duhon, and either Q Rich's picked up player option or Cuttino Mobley's corpse, Suns Trade: Steve Nash

NY can still take the point it wants in this season's draft, and they can get Nash in a position to sign a sweetheart deal next summer to stay with his Binky, Mike D'Antoni. Effectively they get a proven guy that will make NY all the more enticing for Lebreezy.

Suns get cap relief, especially if they pickup Cutttino Mobley and not Q-Rich. They also get Chris Duhon who is coming off of a career year. Duhon is no Steve Nash, but he will play hard for his new contract next summer, and he's only 26, so he's hitting his prime.

Suns should waive Nash if all they want is cap flexibility. His contract is only partially guaranteed, somewhere around 50% I think, so they can save more by taking that route.

Otherwise, if they trade him, they need to be bringing back a prospect. A prospect helps rebuilding.
