But didn't he say the same thing before getting Ray Allen?

What he said is that he doesn't expect to make a move to get into the first round of the draft. Not that he wont make moves.

Read it carefully;

"Celtics general manager Danny Ainge acknowledged via text message tonight that he doesn't expect his franchise to make any trades to get into the first round, acquire a second round pick or to get a player. Boston currently only has the 58th overall pick in the second round."

Lol... seems like I did some selective reading, even though I kinda read it 4 times.

Well I didn't notice that line at first either, so don't feel bad.

I love that Ainge is texting around saying not to expect a trade.  If I know anything about DA, it means there is a trade brewing....
Celtics fan for life.

So he has not eliminated the possibility of acquiring some Pokemon Trading Cards then?  :P

Charizard would make a hell of a power forward.

Read closer! It says don't expect any trades to get A first round pick, A second round pick or to get A player. Still leaving the 2+ first round, 2+ second round picks, and 2+ player trades that are now a definite. If anything this is saying that a trade will definitly happen!!!  ;D

1st Edition Holograph Charizard would make a good backup bigman.

TP for the term "remix my jokes." I like it.
