First off, I'm amazed that someone wants to interview Tony Allen. Secondly I think it's kind of funny that the ESPN reporter asks Tony Allen to evaluate Rondo's attitude.

I think ESPN is getting desperate to find a replacement for Stephen A.  Is Tony wearing a silk robe over that shirt and tie?

Didn't Tony sort of confirm that Rondo's attitude is an issue?  By the way he hesitated and started talking about Rondo's temper (although he said it wasn't really an issue) it seems like even Tony knows what all the media speculation is about.

All this video did was make me realize that TA has been on our team for six years! I've been saying that a player has potential for six whole years now! I'm ashamed of myself.

He didn't confirm anything. I bet KG had a temper with Tony too.

Well, I tend to think that if Rondo was a totally easy going guy, Tony would have said "I don't know what you're talking about", rather than mentioning anger issues.

I mean, the fact that Rondo has a stubborn attitude is well established, by Doc, by Danny, by Tubby Smith, and by Rondo's high school coach.  He's clashed with teammates; reportedly, they "hated" him.  So, let's not pretend that he doesn't from time to time rub people the wrong way.  The only questions are, 1) is that attitude correctable, and 2) if not, is it something the Celtics can live with?

If Rondo was a totally easy going guy he wouldn't be our starter. What TA was saying about Rondo was completely unrelated to all of the other rumors, so you'd have to question whether they were true. He wasn't calling Rondo stubborn, talking about Rondo's lack of work ethic or tardiness or clashes with the coaches.

How 'bout Danny tries to trade TA because of his attitude (and ineptitude) and stops worrying about Rondo?

I didn't want to believe it (sort of like with Ricky Davis, though they're diff. situations) but I think you're right here Roy... there has been a lot of smoke for there not to be a 'fire' somewhere.

that said, how bad can it be? i mean we won 60+ games 2 years in a row, a title last year and probably woulda won again this year w/o a freak injury to KG.

The cynical side of me thinks it's a problem, but a minor one and that all the trade chatter is aimed at (a) letting Rondo know the C's have options and (b) driving his price down a little.

Will that work? Who knows, but every time i hear a rumor (and there haven't been many I like) I shudder and think it's gonna backfire and Rondo's gonna come out and say "fine just trade me, now I want out".

guys i'd consider trading Rondo for:

Ricky Rubio -- never seen the kid play a game but folks i trust are high on him.

Tony Parker -- Simmons & Chad Ford talked about this, and it's an interesting idea.

Nash & an unprotected future #1 -- this would be a huge gamble, but the future #1 would be a good as PHO is poised to slip big time soon.

I'm sure i'm missing a couple guys (someone might talk me into Baron Davis + Camby for Rondo + Ray, but prob. not), i didn't include CP3, Rose or D. Williams since I don't see them getting dealt.

I think we're sort of in agreement here. I think there's a difference between having an attitude (i.e., temper, stubborn, cocky), and that attitude being an issue. I don't think Tony said anything to confirm that Rondo's attitude is an issue, which is along the lines of what your question #2 is asking.

i like how tony allen handled the questions

she wanted allen to tell all the dirt and he didnt. problems with the team should stay in the locker room.

like kobe and shaq. they handled it diffrent and put each other on blast in public. not the way to solve problems.

clearly ainge has a problem with rondo and i hope they can fix it before we start runnin again

Tony Allen is the character witness? Didn't he have people in his crew shoot someone for him (although he got acquitted).
