With all the crazy rumors flying around involving 2 of the starters on our Championship team of only a year ago, I think we just need to slow down and calm down. A lot of us have seen what has been put out in the news, be it fact or fiction, and some have sort of convinced themselves that something will be done and needs to be done. Anytime there a trade occurs, ya it's cool, new players new team and its always interesting to think what it could be like, but we have to stop and actually look at the position we are in. We have without a doubt (all healthy of course) the best starting lineup in the NBA.
C - Perkins: developed significantly as we all saw throughout the season into the playoffs, a force on D and KGs bash brother on the defensive end
PF - KG: healthy unstoppable and the heart of the team, does it all and will probably be back to the 18 and 9-10 and 3
SF - Pierce: banged up last year but had to play, still gets it done and is the Captain we all know
SG - Ray: 18 ppg and draining 3s, we can count on that, we saw his performances in the playoffs before the hamstring problem, he still has game left and i think people are just too quick to judge him on his age (all you hear in the media), the guy fits perfect in the lineup
PG- Rondo: still young and developing each year, what can we expect, surely not the trip-dubs in the playoffs all the time, but maybe 13-15 ppg 5 rpg and 8-10 apg, and a total game changer, most unique player in the game
I know what this time of year can do to people, drive them crazy maybe to the point where they actually start to believe some of it, like we need to move ray or rondo: the age, the attitude, the contracts. The fact is we are built to win the championship again albeit we add a few bench players (hopefully Sheed!)
