Interesting.  Amir has some potential, but I'm not sure how he suits Milwaukee's needs.  Maybe this is their Charlie V replacement.

Finally, Amir may be freed.

So Amir was basically traded in a salary dump? I'd have thought they would at least get something for him. Who knows what Detroit is plotting.

They are trying to clear up as much cap space as possible.

They can cut Oberto, which gives them another $3.5 mil or so of cap space.

Yes I read the article, so I know this, but I just thought that Amir was worth a 2nd rounder at least. Maybe even a late first.

He hasn't done much in the league, and was a second rounder himself.

Times have changed. Financial relief is just as important as a future draft pick. Compared to what's available in the second half of this year's draft, dumping $3.5 mil of salary is more valuable.

Per RealGM:

Who does Detroit try to get now? Boozer and Gordon?

Those have been the two big names most linked to Detroit, but I don't like either for the Pistons.

I think David Lee or Millsap would be better fits at PF.

Would we be interested in either if they are cut?

  • Rondo = Good
Detroit's really pushing hard to get Gordon and Boozer I guess...I don't think they'll be that good even if they got both Boozer and Gordon.

I could see that. And as a Celtic fan I'd like that. I don't see the Pistons winning a Championship with Gordon and Boozer as their overpaid "stars."

Milwaukee has too many forwards.

Ray + future first for

Redd/ Ridnour/ Mbah a Moute

 :-\
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Bucks wouldn't do that trade. How do you sell to your fans trading your two top scorers Jefferson/Redd and the young player the fans are most excited about for the expiring contract of Ray?

Yeah, you have a point. Maybe switch LRMAM for Alexander?
But then I wouldn`t like it for Boston.

I guess if they get Ray back, the loss of Redd wouldn`t be such a big deal. From what I´ve heard on the interwebs, Redd is not a particularly popular player among Bucks fans.
