He was just on CSN and he said to Gary Tanguay that he doesnt spread rumors, that he reports stories from his stories.  Sounded pretty convincing that the celtics offered the deal to detroit.  A little odd that low level executives were talking about the deal.
Just when you think they've got the answers....

Detroit confirmed the discussions to the Detroit Free Press, and Danny didn't specifically deny it, so I'm pretty sure it happened.

yeah, this story does seem to an element of truth judging from the way ainge phrased his not-saying-yes-not-saying-no media quips.

it also makes sense since it would have brought in players to the celtics who could help the team now. one more piece of evidence that ainge believes in the present, not the future. i agree with him. i am more convinved now than ever that no blockbuster draft trade is coming wherein the celtics get a young "whatever" who will need 2-3 years minimum to produce.

the future in now folks.

one more thing, it also shows us what rondo and allen will not bring on the market.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Quite true, but that last statement is going to be a little tough for the local bloggers to swallow, eh?
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Maybe, if it were the case. Is Dumars trying to trade Prince and Rip for prospects? Not that I've heard. He claims that he's trying to sign some players to go with them and win now. The Celts trade would put them into a complete rebuild. It's not about talent in vs talent out, it's completely changing the direction of the franchise. Kind of the way many people here don't want to trade Ray and Rondo for frontcourt players and/or prospects. They don't want to unbalance the team while we're contending for a title. It's not just about how much you value the players offered in a trade, it's about what kind of roster you'll have. It doesn't reflect on Rondo's value the way you think it does.
