No idea if it will be online, but he's on to "discuss the draft."

Ainge: "We're still in the process of identifying the players we could take in our position at #58 and also (what it would take) to move up..."

Ainge: "I've talked with a lot of people around the league. There's some good players at the top, but even at the top there's a lot of risk."

Ainge: "We have not made any effort to get to any of the top picks. We've had discussion, but we have not tried to get a top pick."

More coming...

Ainge: "Most of the players in the first round I wouldn't trade for J.R. Giddens or Bill Walker..."

Ainge:  "I think the 1-year college rule, I wish it were 2-3 years of college. The best players have already been picked out (of college)..."

Ainge:  "There's probably 100 players...We evaluated a few hundred, but probably 100 that we've looked at since season ended."

Ainge: "I'm not sure why his is popping up, but we love Rajon. It doesn't seem like you have to have any source any more (to report rumors)."

He is addressing the media to say this????

This is just a ton of crap that every GM says the week of the draft. I could have written this for him and posted it on Celticsblog it's so predictable.

Ainge: "I've heard speculation we're dissatisfied with him; we're gonna trade him because he was late for a playoff game? That's not true."

Ainge: "The first criteria that any trade rumor has to pass: Is it going to help us win a championship this year?"

Ainge: "This opportunity is unique. We have an opportunity to win with this team we have. We don't want to jeopardize that for the future."

In the words of Frank Drebin, "nothing to see here, move along everybody"

You can't expect him to say anything else, trades arent going to be announced and he's not going to tell us his true intentions.

This really seems like the route were going.. looks like were sticking with the guns we got, and then adding to the bench from there.

Thank God!  I hope he's telling the truth.

He really put it well there too.  The whole point of professional sports is to win titles.  To sacrifice an outstanding opportunity now on the off-chance we might get back there someday and do it better (and it is an off-chance, there are 30 teams in the NBA, and only 1 wins every year), is insane.

Ainge:  "Past 50, other than Ginobili/Gomes, there haven't been many players who've succeeded. Why Gomes was available at 50? I've no idea."

Ainge:  "It was frustrating watching the Finals and ECF. I felt like we could have been there."

Ainge: "KG's coming along very well. He should be 100% by the time we start training camp. He just went home to L.A."

Ainge:  "The free agent mid-level talent pool is fairly deep, but based on our needs it may not be that deep."

Yeah, I agree Danny a perquisite for a trade to achieve rumor status should be at its worst ' does it actually make the C's better '.  My opinion on the Rondo/Ray for Detroit players trade (rumor) didn't make that lofty criteria....
