I am not big on AI at this point in his career like most, but if Ray Allen was traded for a top 5 pick do you think Danny would consider signing Iverson to the MLE as Ray's replacement, and would you want him to?. When Iverson was playing next to Eric Snow he was so much more effective at SG than at PG. You know he can still score and dish the ball and is hungry for a championship

I know he complained about coming off the bench for Detroit last year, but we wouldnt have to worry about that on the C's because he would be the starting SG.

He is probably the most talented overall SG in the free agent market and if you could get him for the MLE I say do it, but only if Ray was traded. You know Danny likes AI because he even considered trading Al Jefferson for him a few years ago.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Nope.  He's got a bad attitude, he's a ball hog, and he refuses to play defense at this point.

That's a pretty short backcourt. Who would guard Kobe?

No. AI is all about AI. Besides, he's a volume shooter. I'd throw him the MLE to keep him away.

PP did a pretty good job of that a few years ago.

So AI guards the SF then?  ???

Oh hell no! I would hate for his "back" to go out again when he is informed of that whole concept of team play.
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.

Actually you could probably put Rondo on Kobe and let AI cover the PG. Rondo has great foot speed to stay in front of Kobe and has long arms and hands to contest Kobe's jump shot. I think Rondo could actually do a pretty good job on Kobe.

Someone actually voted "yes"?   ???  dear god why?

he brings nothing to the table.  Selfish.  A low-percentage volume-chucker. no defense.  too short to guard anyone even if he tried.

IF Ray were traded and a SG wasn't coming back in the deal, there'll at least a half-dozen cheaper candidates that never made an all-star team that would be far better choices to fill that hole.

just being a big name or all-star doesn't mean you're any good or would improve the team you play for.  AI is the perfect example of that.

I have always been a big AI fan, I don't think he should be a starter though. He could be the best scorer off the bench in the league.

It might depend a little on alternatives, money, and what would be available with the draft pick, and I'd want to hear what the major players said, but generally I can't respect a leader that vocally puts himself above practice.
