And by Los Angeles i meant the Clippers. They have a good young guard in Eric Gordan, are going to get Blake Griffin, and probably will still have a lottery pick next year. They have a ok bench right now. Al Thornton will be good, and Kaman is a solid big man (if he doesnt get traded). Next year they could draft a point guard like Kemba Walker or Willie Warren.

Warren
Gordan
LBJ
Griffin
Kaman

Thats a pretty solid starting line up. It is just as good as Cleveland right now. Yeah Mo Williams is better then Warren, but Griffin and kaman are thousands of times better than the Cav's front court.

Im not saying its the best option for LeBron but im just saying that it is a one alternative

Besides, what better place for a huge star then L.A.

Kobe and Lebron would battle like 4 times a year

I don't think the Clippers would be a good fit for Lebron.  They're a terrible organization that has usually put money in front of winning.

Second, Lebron would basically be relegating himself to permanently being in Kobe's shadow.  The Lakers own Los Angeles, and nothing is going to change that.  If the Lakers continued to win, and the Clippers struggled or were mediocre, people would constantly be talking about how Lebron just wasn't quite at Kobe's level as a player.

Great point. I didnt really think that through all the way lol. I saw a quote by Michael Wilbon on the topic of Lebron on the clippers so i thought i would bring it up.

Interesting idea ... crazy, but not too crazy.

The Clippers could actually offer LeBron a very enticing situation to walk into.

You left out Baron Davis.  If healthy that is one hell of a team as long as the young guys Gordon, Griffin, and Thornton produce which I think they all will.  Plus they would have everyone mentioned here locked up for a few years.  It would be tough even for the Clippers to screw this up if they got Lebron and they would challenge the Lakers just fine.

Also, unless the Clippers dump Davis or Randolph (and probably both) they won't have any shot at Lebron.  They're only slightly below the salary cap threshold for 2010 now; they'd need to clear probably $15 million more room, at least.

Whenever I think of the clippers I just get nauseous, how many years did Baylor basically keep the team in a toxic waste dump of bad mvoes/management/etc....idk if it is, but I think that it is the worst managed team in the NBA by far.

Cleveland's setup to give him the best contract. Only other place I could see him going is NY if he want to take a little less but end up with more. I'd be nervous if I was a Cleveland fan. It would be a real kick in the balls if he bolts his hometown.

Actually put Lebron with Gordon, Thorton, Griffen and Kaman and you have a pretty good team. He might actually overtake Kobe for popularity in LA. It won't happen but its an interesting idea.

Lebron must really want to prove something if he does that. Until ownership changes - and possibly a name and location change - nothing will happen with the Clips.
