I'd say Mayo and Gordon both are not busts.
OJ Mayo 18.5/3.1/3.5
Eric Gordon 16.1/2.6/2.8
Now Here are Kevin Love's numbers
11.1/9.1 and he is rated as the top player. Seems like the system is flawed to me. It might be good at picking sleepers but it's bad at picking busts.
Take a look at minutes played, turnovers, and shooting percentages. Then we can start having a conversation on who among Mayo, Gordon, and Love played the best as a rookie.
Zach Randolph is was double double big after all
.
Wasn't making the point to argue that Gordon and Mayo are better than Love, just that they aren't busts. The best way to show that they aren't busts is to compare them to the player with the highest player rating.
But raw points, assists, and rebounds don't tell you
anything.
You need minutes, turnovers, and shooting percentages to be making any qualified judgments. I don't think they are necessarily busts either, but I'm not sold that they will be stars. They certainly were far inferior to Love, especially after the first two months of the season.
