It would seem counter-intuitive to put this here, but nevertheless

  • "This is beautiful. What is that? Velvet?"
No love for Tiger and the PGA Tour?  The US Open from Bethpage Black is this week!
"Coach you were 24 and 58 last year, why the playoff talk?"
"Well we made a couple of key trades . . . and we got The Funk."

I haven't been to a lot of those, but all in all, given my druthers, I'd pick a nice night at Fenway above any of them.

Can't handle going to Pats games any more, but there is definitely a unique quality to a football stadium crowd when the team needs to make a big stop.

I love going to the Celts, but I'm jaded by all of the games I saw in the Bird/Garden era.  New Garden's nice, but it's just not the same.

I went to the Final 4 when UMASS was there, and that was great, but a home game at Duke or something would beat a tourney game any time.

All in all...Gotta go with Fenway on a nice night.
Yup

Maybe a tangent, but my son plays 3 sports over the year. Football, Basketball, and then Lacrosse. I played Basketball and was sure that was going to be my favorite of his to watch, but quite honestly it is in last place of the three.

Football by a big margin, then Lacrosse, and a distant basketball. Maybe it is because having played the sport I am more into the specifics of what he is doing/not doing and it is harder to enjoy it. He plays middle linebacker and watching him knock someone off their feet is the greatest thing ever...

I earned a ranking in all three weapons after training under three Olympians and a former Polish champion and I have never seen this on TV and it is difficult to attend. The more urban area you live the easier to attend I guess, but I made the purposeful decision not to include fencing

Hockey.  It doesn't really matter NHL or NCAA, it's a great time.  (Minor league games are fun, as well.)

I'll take a dump in my own pants out of happiness if my boy becomes middle linebacker. Every game I'll be like "With your pads or in them".
