Trade scenerio: Perkins/Walker to Memphis for Gay/2nd Pick

nice thing about this trade is that celtics will get a backup for pierce and also 2nd pick.

but to makeup for the void in center, danny ainge must have certain that he could sign someone from the free agent.

the question is who can fill-in and still make the roster competitive for banner 18.

memphis wouldnt trade the # 2 for perk and walker, why would they also send gay?

Rudy Gay is great. Perk is more valuable to this team right now. And memphis will not trade him for nothing (TA & Scal). I don't see it happening.

memphis will be over the salary cap by adding Perks' alone. this is one reason why memphis will consider trading Gay. and i think danny ainge would want to get more value for Perkins, as we all know how valuable he is during playoff. but if danny really wants to have 2nd pick, Perkins is the player who memphis wants.

btw, this trade will also free-up $2.5mm from celtics' roster.

obviously danny ainge would need to do some selling in order to get Rudy as well. so if walker is not good enough, he will need to adding another player or two.
