Trevor Ariza was drafted young - wasn't really given a chance by Orlando - and then was dumped off for nothing. Trevor seemed to have worked hard on his game, and developed his shot.

Are there any other players like him? Drafted a bit tpo earlier - and their teams are about to give up on them too early -  that we can acquire/steal for next to nothing?

How about Tony Allen, JR Giddens, or Billy Walker??

We ought to PLAY Bill Walker!

That's something that Doc could have done down the stretch
to give PP a break on minutes, but Doc does not play rookies
unless there is a 20+pt lead and 2mins left in the game.

Luckily our team has been very good and we've had 20+ point blowouts, but we also need to see the fruits of our draft during the season.  Remember Bill Walker was on many draft boards a top 12 pick in his class.

You forgot to add "Played his best basketball just in time for the Finals, guaranteeing that some desperate team out there will drastically overpay him, then regret the signing 3 months later."  ;D

Yeah. TA is exactly who all of us were thinking about... What part of TA's game has he worked real hard on?! The guy hasn't improved in ONE area since he came in the league and if anything has regressed in most of them due to his injuries.

Certainly not Tony Allen.

Dude, I was definitely joking. The original poster was wondering what other players at the swing position may be available, and I was just saying we have three guys that we may have 'given up' on. While I don't have much or any hope for TA (although he has proven himself in the past) and haven't heard too many good things about Giddens, I think Billy Walker may be a player...

Glad you were joking! I think there is some merit definitely in Walker and Giddens though. Hopefully one of the two of them will make some strides. I'd rather see either one of them getting TA's minutes this next year to see what we have.

I'd like to see TA succeed with another team, but not too much  ;), and obviously he is very limited offensively. He just never seemed to fit in with this new group of guys here. Where others like Perk and Scal got better with the new regime, TA just got more and more lost. It's like he got a taste for what it's like to be a star (for that very short period of time before he ruined his knee), and has never really learned how to be a role player/defensive stopper.

There are a lot of guys who seem to be under-performing / getting less love from their teams than they should.  I like the "Wright Brothers", Julian and Brandan; neither has gotten the time they should.  Jared Dudley is somewhat in the Ariza mold, although I think they like him in Phoenix.

It's like a lot of bad teams go 9-10 deep with essentially the same level of talent, meaning some guys are bound to lose out (like Minny, OKC, Charlotte).

Good call on the 'Wright brothers'. I actually picked up Brandan on my fantasy team last year for a period of time, because they started to give him time and he was fairly productive. If they let him go, I would love to give him a shot.
