And a bunch of other stuff about staying with his family in Orlando during the finals.

I can't blame Doc for not wanting to go to the Finals. If I were in his position I would be the same way.

Glad to see that Marbury is still being considered. I think he will be much more improved next season so hopefully Boston finds a way to get him back.
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.

I'm pretty sure you could have substited in "Gary Payton" in that exact same quote a few years ago.

Doc's not throwing anyone under the bus; there's absolutely no benefit to him saying anything negative.  If they can't make something else happen, Marbury's their fallback option.  If Steph is our backup PG next year, though, that's going to be a disappointment to everybody; there is absolutely no doubt in my mind they want someone better than Stephon.

not considering Marbury would be foolish.  He's gotten a taste of the system and behaved himself while with the team.  Have him come into camp and see what he's got at the end.  If he's got his game back (at least a decent part of it), he's definitely a candidate for backup.

my main man Steph is going to be pretty solid again, not all-star of coure, but pretty solid, he change himself in a nick of time when he put the green jersey on, but he played less minutes, and coming from two off years, now he learn our system well, has time to improve his shape, and he was in Waltham twice a day since the day after we loose to the Magic. The only player work so hard since then are Stephon Marbury and J.R. Giddens. Steph is going to be good and maybe just what we need, so I don't see why we can't trust on him, yeah we also can see what we can do in the open market, but we don't need to give up on Steph yet.

Depressing news.  Marbury is a loser.  Always has been.  A talented loser is still a loser.

I'm not excited for this either, we'll have to see. I don't mind him as the 2nd/3rd PG on the bench, but I'd hope for better.

I would rather see him stay in the roster than Tony Allen. A KG-Starbury reunion will surely keep him on his best behavior. If he messes up again doc can ship him out.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Good to know that Marbury is considered but the whole interview with Doc doesn't learn us anything, he is basically saying that they are considering all options to get better... we'll see what comes of the offseason.

He needs to go.

The Celtics got lucky that he didn't implode like he has in the past.

But, he gave the Celtics nothing on the court.

Nothing on the court, history of imploding...

What am I missing?

Keep Marbury, what better back up PG could we possibly find? A training camp under his belt and i'm sure this man will be close to what he was back in the day.

I agree, but that depends on steph. He wants (and deserves, frankly) a chance to see if there are better jobs available than "back up PG"

:-X That's the only thing making me nervous for this team right now for alot of our current players ($$$$).

I'm not too worried.  Due to (a) the economy and (b) the bumper FA class in summer '10, I doubt teams will be throwing around a lot of money this offseason.
Celtics fan for life.
