The point of the announcers is to entertain...we can all think for ourselves and realize that JVG will have a bias. He doesn't need to be objective. There are virtually no objective announcers out there.

Is Tommy objective? Probably about as objective as we are. So I dont know what to expect from any announcer.

And in JVG's case he said that he wouldn't criticize his brother to ABC execs and he asked if they wanted to go with someone else and he said they said they still wanted him.

I mean SVG I believe sucks as a coach at the end of quarters, halves, games, b/c he doesn't use time outs right and can't design plays, but this article wasn't very professional imho.

you can blame stan you can blame dwight you can blame jameer you can blame alot of people here.  Even mikael pietrus tossed up a buzzer beater with 2 seconds on the clock while rashard was chillin in the corner waitin for a dish for the game winner.  This is everyone's fault not the coach alone.  Experience won out in this game simple as that.  The Lakers would have fouled a game tying 3 the Lakers wouldnt toss up jumpers with 2 seconds on the clock.

I agree with Whitlock that icing Rafer was a big mistake.  I think SVG should have learned his lesson after game one.  Yes, the team as a whole didn't play well in the third quarter, but to sit Rafer for 19 minutes because of it, when he's be a huge player for the Magic since being acquired, was a short-sighted, poor decision.

I agree that there is blame to go around It's not all on SVG. Turkoglu had a couple bad plays at the end too. But a coach choking vs a player choking is far worse to me. All he had to do was make a substition. You want your 5 best defensive players out there with 11 seconds left.

The entire Magic team sucked in the second half of Game 4.  No one person deserves blame - you could look at almost anyone who played significant minutes or had a decision to make in the second half, especially the fourth quarter, and find something they could easily have done differently or correctly and the game would have gone the other way.

The Magic as a whole choked big time last night.

The difference is Tommy is a Celtic announcer. JVG is a National announcer.

If JVG told ABC he couldn't be objective they should have removed him. One of the things that makes JVG good is that he is usually one of the least biased guys announcing.

The Magic, as a whole, have been extremely disappointing this series, and especially last night. I never ever root for anyone except for the Celtics, but I definitely do not want the Lakers to win, so I have to root for the Magic. These guys do everything wrong, yet they still have put themselves in [a pretty good] position to be up 3-1 against the Lakers. Instead, they are all but dead to a very underachieving Lakers team. Seriously, if/when the Lakers win the title, this will go down as one of the least dominating teams in history.

Well again in JVG's defense (I sound like his agent), he says he really doesn't like to criticize coaches anyways. You can look at that as a flaw for a color man, but imo we already know that SVG did a poor job last night. Do we need Jackson and JVG to say it to confirm it?

Jeff asked to not do the games, because he said he thought he couldn't be subjective. ABC still wanted him on. Lay off Jeff Van Gundy.

Jason Whitlock is a shrill and an idiot. People forget about him then BOOM...he's in another scandal. Coincidence? Fate? Manipulation of the public through flamboyant hyperbolic stances on ridiculous issues? Whitlock's been there. He's there now.

Stan Van Gundy may have screwed up, but Jason Whitlock is the one who 'needs his --- beat.'
