Not sure if anyone else saw this, but the public has spoken:

Although I don't think any of us needed them to tell us something we didn't already know.

Celts 70 %, Lakers 30 %.

Nuff said.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I just cannot watch the Lakers-Magic series anymore...Magic should be up 3-1 and instead they are the ones on the brink of elimination. During the Magic-Celtics series, I admitted I was wrong about the Magic- that they really did have a killer instinct. But after watching a sub-par Lakers team beat this incredibly soft Magic team, I am left disgusted.

This isn't a series of amazing plays and strong desire, it is a tired Lakers team watching the Magic screw everything up they possibly can. Of course the 08 Celtics are better than the 09 Lakers. It just sux that the Lakers/Phil are going to get another championship...it is total bs.

Well I think even last years Lakers would be this years. Last year's laker team had much more bench support. That little long haired weenie was making big shots.

So no doubt the C's would win.

You are right, last year's Lakers were definitely better, but Ariza did make all the difference in the world last night.

Last year's Celtics team -- or this year's team, healthy -- would crush the Lakers.

This Finals has been plagued with some of the absolute worse post season championship caliber defense I have seen since before the Pat Reilly New York and Detroit Pistons Bad Boys defenses on the late 80's and early 90's. Simply awful.

A healthy C's team might have already swept the Lakers the way they have played defense in this series.

That poll is definitely a no-brainer.

The '08 Celtics are gonna go down as one of the all-time great teams.  The same cannot be said for this current incarnation of Lakers.

Last year's Celtics was playing at the very top of their game.  This Lakers team is not playing at the top of their game.  Maybe if the Lakers playing out of their minds, they might have a chance.  But Magic is playing soft and have basically given the game away on those two OT.  I knew that if Magic lost game 1, then it was all over.

let's not be ridiculous here.  we didn't crush a weaker Lakers team last year and we didn't exactly crush the Lakers when we played this year.

I don't think that's representative of the series with LA. Game 6, they already gave up when they starting losing. They have a habit of giving up and letting teams pack on points when they know they lost. (Rockets games 4 and 6, Denver game 4).

Also Lakers won the 2 regular season games, though after watching the Magic I don't know how much that's worth.

Agreed.  Which is why I hope more than anything this summer that this team stays together.  Clearly, a healthy C's team is better than the Magic or the Lakers.  For Ainge to even consider breaking up the core is crazy.
