I've realized now that attractive women does not always mean good TV.

So its summertime, and I got time on my hands, and so I've been watching TV shows that I would normally just let slide.

So I started watching "The Listener", a show you canucks might be familiar with, that is now just making its big debut in the US.

The show isn't terrible, and the premise is that it follows a telepathic EMT that runs around solving crimes (okay, maybe this is a bad show). He does so with the help of a fetching female headstrong detective called Charlie Marks.

Then I got to thinking: Where is the world storing all of these hot detectives? There is the girl from The Mentalist:

Bad actress.

There was Oliva Dunnam (fringe):

Turned out well, but killed the show's reviews in teh first few episodes.

I mean teh list goes on and on. CSI, NCIS, Law and Order...

Attractive women in typical "tough guy" roles make shows with hard premises become even more unwatchable. They make the premises that much more unbelievable.

I mean I like attractive women on TV as much as the next guy, but they gotta be able to carry the role. Look at Adrinna in sopranos. She could act. Oliva DUnnam came through in the end, she can act. Kimma Gregs in the wire? She's very attractive, but she can act.

Charlie Marks? I mean come on.

I have never seen the listener but I really like Dunham in Fringe...

Of course, an attractive woman alone doesn`t mean good TV but if she can act it definitely makes the show better... ;D

I didn't like Dunnam at first but she has really come through.

Haha yup, after "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" came out, it ended shows like this better than I could ever do...

It's just really silly stuff, everyone is gorgeous and super intense and spout 1-liners that are so thoughtless.  The crime lab is always lit like a night club, and it's a genre that suffers from over-the-top-itis.

Funny, the best show if it's kind was never duplicated, please rent the first few season of HOMOCIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS if yu want to see how it ought to be done.

haha. I thought of that too.

"Animal Instincts"

Billy Baldwin was awesome there.

"Both?"
"Both."

haha.

"Double trouble"...derp.

EDIT: If you wanna see something hilarous, search Aldus Snow and the letter U on youtube. Russell Brand is only funny when he's talking to someone besides the audience, but when he's funny he's hilarious.

You ever thought anything different? That's surprising.
