Boston trades Ray, TA and a future 1st

Receives Amare, Posey and Wright

NO trades Wright, Chandler and Posey

Receives Ray and a future 1st

Phoenix trades Amare

receives Chandler and TA

Boston upgrades in talent.  Amare becomes the Mchale style 6th man as he learns to  play defense behind KG and Perk and eventually replaces KG in the future.  Posey/Wright gives the Celtics the depth they need at SF.  MLE, LLE and vet mins are then all used to reload the backcourt.

Phoenix trade Amare and get the fringe all-star big they are looking for.

NO saves money.  That's what they tried to trade Chandler for before.

YES YES YES x 4.
I think its completely unrealistic, but I actually like this trade, and I haven't agreed with most of the ideas.

Why?

NO trade Chandler for less last year.  Now they get an all-star in the last year of his contract to sell to the fans.  Peja and Ray stretching the defense for Paul and West to work.  They get out of two big contracts.

Phoenix want to move Amare for size.  In Chandler, they get the fringe all star big that can run, play defense and rebound.  Plus, costs less then Amare.

As for the SG, it is one of the easier positions to fill.  Use part of the MLE or use Davis in a sign and trade to find one that can shoot and play average defense.

I like it from a Celtics standpoint, but it is unrealistic because Amare is worth a lot more than just Chandler (TA doesn't really count). We would probably need to throw in a future first or something like that.

Great trade idea!  If we gave up Ray we'd need Posey's clutch 3-point shooting in big games.

I agree with previous poster that the Sun's would need/want/demand more, so how many picks does N.O. have this year?  Next year?  N.O. doesn't need to give up its high picks, just enough picks to allow the aging Suns to start re-tooling.

Why not?  This saves them the money they want to save.

He is?

True he has more talent.  But from Phoenix's stand point, Chandler fits, costs less and improves their defense.

Reasonable idea, but I'd prefer to stay away from the self proclaimed "Black Jesus" and hold on to the Real Jesus Shuttlesworth.

Posey is not going to fill the void left by Sugar Ray's 3 pt shooting.
God bless and good night!

There is no way Phoenix would take Chandler for Amare. And if they would, why wouldn't New Orleans just trade Chandler for Amare? It's silly. It's a fine idea for the Celtics, but to think that we could get an All NBA caliber big man in his 20s, plus a sixth man and a young player with potential for just expiring contracts (and no potential future value at all) is plainly ridiculous. Try something that might actually work for other teams.
Go Celtics.

Same reason they traded him for expirering spare parts.  They are not looking for talent, they are looking to save money off the cap

I like this trade.

We could either run with a lineup of:

Rondo
Pierce
KG
Amare
Perk

OR

SIGN GERALD GREEN!!!!!!
Rondo
Gerald
Pierce
KG
Perk

We would have sooooo many options.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I don't think Phoenix does this with Chandler's injury history. Why would they trade one all-star (Amare was an all-star, right?) injury riddled franchise forward for a less talented (but less prima donna) injury riddled all-star (was chandler an all-star? We're all all-stars, right?)?

Then, how are they going to justify O'neal? They're gonna have to let go of the big man, but its gonna be a complete roster overhaul for a team that is trying to stay competitive.

They need a 4 coming back too, and Kerr is not a GM that can afford to T-off his fanbase right now, esp with Nash looking for a sign to sign an extension.

Why would new orleans do this trade when they could get amare for chandler and filler?
