According to Hoopshype, TT has over $6M left next year so it isn't likely to be a minimum contract for us next year.  To get TT we problably need to trade TA and Scal.  That could potentially be an upgrade but not likely to be at the top of the off season list.

Oh, then never mind.

I thought he was talking as a FA.

I remember being excited when Tim Thomas would come into the games this year for the bulls. Pass.

  • Rondo = Good
The guy's a slouch, but maybe with the proper motivation (KG yelling at him all the time) he could play with some more intensity.  If the guy wants to play here, that means he must have some kind of desire to actually make a difference.

That said, I'd only take him if it were really easy to do so.

Maybe he's a guy who gets bought out at the trade deadline and we get him towards the end of the season.

If he's a guy hanging out towards the end of our bench (8th-9th guy) then I wouldn't mind, but he won't cut it as far as really important backups.

Hahaha, nice!

Of course, the problem with you, hpantazo, is that you could be a locker room cancer.  But for that, I'm sure the Cs would sign you with the MLE.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Tim Thomas career money:

84,051,000

Games last 3 years:
203 out of a possible 246
Games started last 3 years:
81 out of a possible 203
Games started, 4 season previous:
213 of possible 246

The guy has spent 3 years as a bad contract garbage player after spending 4 years as a starter.

He's 32, probably 3 years left if he's lucky.

I dunno, he's definitily an option, and having something to prove is definitly a bonus. Its not like he's playing for a new contract, he's made near 100 million in his life. He's got a skill set that would help, and he'd be better than anyone else on the roster to spot Paul.

Hopefully we get something better, but if not, I would be excited to see how he does.

I was excited about Mikki Moore too though, that is until he played.

Thomas is on my team of players I don't want in green along with Ricky Davis and Mark Blount.

my post from the front page:

I'm actually not down on this. It obviously depends on who is available, but if we could get TT to play the way he did in PHO, it could really help scoring off the bench.

I was interested him probably more for this past season because it looked like NYC would move him, but for this season, I would still keep him on the radar. and I definitely like it when a player wants to play here.

depends heavily on how things shake down, though. for instance, if we went Dice instead of Sheed, then I wouldn’t mind having TT be that long SF/PF that can spread the floor with his outside shot…

winsomme,

very well said. i couldn't agree more. i expect the short-list of players who quietly express interest in Boston to grow into a lengthy laundry list of guys for our choosing. I think it's only a matter of time before Sheed expresses interest in going somewhere specific. The guy can't keep his mouth shut on the floor so I don't expect him to take on his "both teams played hard" ambiguous attitude during the offseason.

all he can do is shoot threes (not necessarily make them) and complain

LOL, yea, I forgot, that's one of my redeeming qualities, that , and jacking up threes (not necessarily making them)
