  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Shooting?  Nash has to rank near the top.  He's been 50-40-90 three times, and has narrowly missed it several other times.  Only once in his career has he shoot less than 40% from 3PT.

That makes me happy since he's the only one who came to mind.  I figured there had to be plenty of others who were better.  Good to know few if any were better shooters.  Stockton in second half of career.  Was Steve Kerr a PG?

Kerr played the PG position, much like Eddie House does.

As I'm looking Iverson and Marbury's stats aren't horrible for the era they play in but not great by any means

Magic Johnson is interesting. The 3 point wasn't as big when it first started

He's .52 .303 .848

Sorry but can you tell me what the 3 positions are for?  3 pointers verses 2 pointers and something else?

Want to go with Rondo ;) , but I'll go with a tie between Mark Price and Steve Nash.

Honorable mention: Dana Barros

All wrong. The answer is actually a 2 way tie between Isaiah Thomas and Tim Hardaway from NBA Jam.

Here is a link to the career leaders in eFG%, which looks at the most efficient shooters (by weighting three points more than two pointers.)  If you look at the guards on the list, this may be the best way to determine who the best shooters are.

Here are some of the point guards / combo guards:

Brent Barry: .5703 eFG%
Steve Kerr: .5642 eFG%
Steve Nash: .5552 eFG%
Leandro Barbosa: .5489 eFG%
John Stockton: .5463 eFG%
Hubert Davis: .5374 eFG%
Mario Elie: .5365 eFG%
Dana Barros: .5359 eFG%
Magic Johnson: .5333 eFG% (due mostly to him being so efficient inside)
Mark Price: .5305 eFG%
John Paxson: .5277 eFG%
Maurice Cheeks: .5261 eFG%
Danny Ainge: .5193 eFG%

Again, not all of these guys were pure point guards, but almost all of them were great shooters.
