Trade ID #5101745

Celts send Rondo and Ray Allen to Sacramento.
Sacramento sends Rubio, Nocioni, Jason Thompson, Francisco Garcia, Beno Udrih

Celtics sign Marbury (I think he's got plenty more in the tank)

Marbury, Rubio, Udrih
Garcia, House, Giddens                        Rubio and House make nice combo
Pierce, Nocioni, Garcia, Walker
Garnett, Baby, Jason Thompson,Powe
Perk, Pachulia, Ratliff

Wow, how ridiculously bad is this?!?! Udrih and Garcia have horrible contracts. Nocioni`s isn`t much better. This is a dream scenario for the kings but one of the worst trades I have seen on this board. And I love Rubio!

I don't think 16 players are allowed on a roster and it would actually be 18 considering you forgot Scal and Tony Allen still being on the team.

There is a similar trade being proposed on a Kings forum for Ray and Rondo.. but we'd get Kevin Martin in addition to Rubio (the 4th pick), Beno Udrih and Nocioni. Even with Kevin Martin in the mix, they acknowledge how bad this trade would be for Boston.

  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
Someone would veto this deal.

I don't see why we should be thinking about trading Rondo or Ray at this point.

Last year got sidetracked because of injuries.

We still have a great team that I don't think can lose in a 7 game series.

We just need to stay healthy.

Follow up trade of Udrih, Jason Thompson, Walker and Giddens for D.J. Augustin and DeSagna Diop.  Or some such trade

Trade Scal and Tony Allen for something else.

Augustin, Rubio, House                       Rubio could play with House and with Augustin
Garcia, House, ??
Pierce, Nocioni
Garnett, Baby, Nocioni, Powe
Perk, Pachulia

or

Augustin, House, Rubio
Pierce, Garcia, House, Rubio
Nocioni, Garcia
Garnett, Baby, Jason T., Nocioni, Powe
Perk, Pachulia

A sloppy mess but make trades to trim roster.

I agree completely, but should we just shut down the blog?  This is a blog, not a G.M.'s office.

If we want to trade Rondo and Ray then imo we should of never traded Brandon Roy, Al Jefferson, Gomes, Delonte, the #5 pick etc. When you trade for KG and Ray, you're saying you want to contend IMMEDIATELY. We won the title in their first yr together and might have won again this yr if KG had stayed healthy. The glaring weakness this yr was the loss of Posey and PJ and no one to replace them. If we learn from our mistakes and replace them this offseason, we should be favored to win next year. If we trade Rondo and Ray we won't be. And Pierce and KG will have gotten a yr older. If you are going to go for the win now approach, you can't then get rid of your whole backcourt. One of Ray or Rondo will most likely be an all-star next year and possibly both. So trades are fun to propose, but Pierce and KG are not spring chickens and we have to go for it now.

God I love Big Al!  He's one of the few players I'd consider giving up Rondo for, though I'd need to be sure about his knee first.

Perk, KG and Al J.   Al J. wins 6th man award while giving KG plenty of rest.  Perk and KG for defense at the end and Al and KG for offense at the end of games.  Perk and Al J. for the future.

Good PG's are pretty hard to find though.
