In a hurry right now, so I don't have time to look anything up. But what about acquiring Ricky Davis? If he's a free agent, we could probably get him for the vet minimum. And if he's not, we could probably acquire him for JR Giddens and/or Pruitt straight up.

We desperately need a scorer off the bench, and Ricky provides this. He's probably more athletic than anyone on our team other than Rondo or Walker. He can fill it up quickly, and could really save some wear and tear on Paul and Ray. Defensively, he did a decent job when he was here before. I think he'd do an even better job now with our strong focus on defense (and KG and Thibs).

Obviously, the main risk here is his attitude. But it's not like we'd be giving up much to get him. If he causes problems, send him out on the street. This would need to be approved by our vets and Doc, but if they think they can get Ricky to buy in to our system and play within the team, I think this could work. The way I see it, it's a low risk-high reward scenario.

Thoughts?

He's done, I watched him try to play in a few Clippers games and he's lost all of his game. It's as if he lost all his physical tools at once...

The only trade I think worth pursuing with the Clippers is for Chris Kaman.

Which means he can probably be had for vet minimum . . .   ;D

I'd have to say that he's on my list of "Former Celtics that I Don't Wanna See Comeback Here"

Yep, agreed.  Now, he wasn't healthy, so maybe that had something to do with it.  However, skills-wise, he's a huge gamble.  That says nothing about the "Ricky being Ricky" sideshow that we'd have to put up with, in the locker room and out.

No! No! and No!

He's lost it physically, played horrid last year, is a locker room cancer and parties too much off the court.

Actually, I used to like his game when he was here, but he was only good about one out of every five or six games, if I remember correctly. And that was in his physical prime.
Forget it.

I remember people wanted to keep Ricky and trade Pierce. LOL

He mocked Paul Pierce at one time. It just wouldn't work.

Was that around the same time Jiri Welsch was the next John Havlicek, J.R. Bremer the next Dennis Johnson, and Brandon Hunter the next Paul Silas?

I'm from Iowa, I watched him in College. He was just as big of ass back then as he was in the NBA.

he makes less than TA right now, and who looks good playing for The Clippers? i think playing for a championship/redemption could really bring out the best in him.
