I hate to praise either of them, but they gave some nice comments about the celtics in the globe today which, to me, make lebron's poor attitude look even worse:

"As far as a reaction to the Celtics being eliminated, I don't think I had one really," said Lakers guard Derek Fisher. "It was unfortunate for them that they got hit with the injuries that they did and they didn't really get a chance to defend their title fully. At the same time, I thought they stood up pretty strong for a team missing Kevin Garnett and Leon Powe. There were a lot of personnel changes that they had to go through.

"They were one game away from being in the Eastern Conference finals. I think Doc Rivers and those guys are to be commended on the season that they had, based on what they went through."

Said Lakers coach Phil Jackson, "We fully anticipated the champions would come out of the East. That's something you anticipate. But with the loss of Kevin Garnett, we understood that the hurdle that they would have to climb . . . But they still were very valiant playing a seven-game series with [the Magic]."

Nice to hear. I still want them to lose. That said, I've always liked Fisher, solid player and good professional. Seems like a nice guy, too (although I'm sure Luis Scola would disagree).

Yes, those were nice quotes, which I was surprised about.  I thought maybe they'd try taking a shot since they knew they wouldn't have to deal with the Celtics in the Finals, which is exactly what the bag of excrement Sasha Vujachick did.

Not sure if it's broken english or if he meant it as a shot at the Celtics but here's Vujaic's quote:

"We wanted to play the Celtics no matter what. You can't pick your opponent in the Finals and they were not good enough to make it this year".

Also, this is old and may have already been posted but Sasha has a website where he posts videos like this.  In this one he discusses his Oscar picks on a breezy day at the beach.

sasha should worry about the fact that he's close to getting benched, and has shown a mark'd decline since signing that contract.

Nice qoutes out of fisher and phil, would have loved to have another shot at them this year.

does sasha discuss how most lakers fans think he's stealing money at this point on that beach?

It is too easy to "appraise the dead."
I haven't heard anything like that when we were leading 3-2 with the Magics.
I promise a thread titled "How good were the Lakers this year" if they lose the Finals.

"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Hoyo > yeah the second video was made by me, I'm glad to see that it still gets good feedbacks (and not only from Celtics fans). ;D

Fisher and Phil just said the truth in their comments but it was nice from them to say so, I must give them credit for that even though I can't stand both of them (Phil since a long time and Fisher since his cheap shot at Scola).

By the way I can't stand Vujacic like most of you do, but just to add fire to our hate, I'll let you know that the guy promised that he wouldn't wear green before the Celtics were knocked out of the playoffs... and he proudly wore a green shirt before game 3 in Denver after the Celtics got eliminated a few days before. ::)

Initially I thought that it was good sportsmanship by the Lakers to give props to their old enemy.

Later, after remembering how Phil Jackson likes to play mind games, I started thinking he was praising Boston only to diminish what Orlando has done.  Fisher too.  They both mention how Boston would have been better if KG and Powe played.  And they went to seven with Orlando without those two guys.  If anyone besides Phil Jackson said it I would think it's classy (like Fisher) but I don't see Philly giving out praise to ANY Celtic team unless it's to gain some sort of mental advantage.  Or maybe I'm just reading into it too much because I HATE the Lakers!  Go C's!!!

By the way, they will lose Odom or Ariza this summer and will be significantly worse.  A healthy Yao might have changed the outcome of the Houston series.

I really can't stand the fact that they are in the Finals and could win it.
