Thought I would share this for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of seeing it. It made me a laugh a little...

Why stay in a hotel when you could meditate on a mountain top? The possibilities are endless, Phil.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Seriously what's next? Sending his team into the wild to survive for a month in order to prepare for next year.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Phil plays a PR game..but guys like Lamar Odom, Kobe...they got big lives with a lotta phone calls, can't hurt to tell them to tone it down (no one is gonna turn off their phones though)

Phil has been here before...

Quote
"Moments later a cell phone went off, a clear violation of team policy. ... The phone that was ringing belonged to Kobe. I couldn't believe it. Worse yet I couldn't believe he answered it and started talking in a hushed voice. We were about to go on the court for our most important game of the year, and Kobe was allowing himself to be distracted by a phone call. I didn't ask who he was talking to and I didn't care. He shouldn't have been talking to anyone."

From his autobiography.

Honestly I get the concept and why he wouldn't want anyone on the phone... But these are NBA players making MILLIONS of dollars with even bigger egos... Does he actually believe that Kobe Bryant will keep his phone off for 2 whole weeks cuz his coach said so?

He might be able to get away with this kind of thing in high school if he was respected by his players (although there would obviously be some or most that wouldn't obey this), but when you tell grown men what they can and can't do? lol, not gonna work.

In an unlikely turn of events, the "Can You Hear Me Now?" Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.bag entered the Lakers locker room to investigate the sudden dearth of cellular usage- only to be donkey punched by Phil Jackson.
