Anyone watch Delonte at the end of game 6?

He refused to give up, played with that motor we all know and love, and he made some nice plays in the process.

Seeing him really reminded me of how much I miss him.  He was a fan favorite here, and would've been a perfect fit for this team.  His defense, intensity, attitude, shooting ability would have made him a great combo guard to play 20-25 minutes off the bench.

My question is, last offseason, even when he was a restricted free agent, why didn't the Celtics send out any feelers or show any interest in him?

I would be all for a Tony/Giddens/future 1st trade for Delonte West.

Yup, I did notice that.  Posted something in the game thread to that effect.  I love the attitude and effort he plays with.

I kept looking around for Lebron those last few minutes and I swear he was hiding from the camera.

Yup

I would rather have Eddie and there is no spot for both of them.  Delonte has heart but he is still an undersized 2, an overrated defender, similar ball handling skills to Eddie and not as good a shooter.

  • Strength from Within
Delonte has bounced back strong from his early troubles this season. Sorry that he had to go down with LeBron & Co.; but he and Mo were the only other bright spots for the Cavs this season and one of the reasons they were able to put together such a strong season. He plays hard every night and I hope that is rewarded.

Before Delonte got hurt this past season he was heading close to all star status in my opinion.I would have picked him over Mo Williams.Delonte's game has grown a lot this season. He is a more consistent scorer and a decent defensive player.

Delonte kept the Cavs in some games when Lebron wasn't playing at the top of his game.He complimented Lebron's game very well.

I was never much of a fan of Delonte's game (tweener) ... but I'm glad to see he proved me 100% wrong. He's had a great season for Cleveland.

Cleveland fans love Delonte.  Guy is all heart.  He was the only player outside of Lebron that wasn't afraid to challenge Howard in the Magic series.

His size makes him an ideal bench player that can contribute 20-25 minutes a night of intense ball.  Can't wairt to watch him continue to grow in Cleveland

Any chance Clev decides West is to small to be a starting SG and trades him for TA?    ;)

I was a lurker then, but yeah, I was also hoping Orien could improve enough to stick around.  Banks . . . I didn't have so much hope.

I don't know...Eddie is also an undersized 2. Delonte is a much better defender and rebounder, and the biggest difference is that he can get his own shot, Eddie can't. Delonte instead of Eddie off the bench would have helped a lot last year. Delonte was creating offense and keeping his team in the game in key playoff moments against the magic, House couldn't get a shot off all series against the magic's bench.
