How about Latrell Sprewell?

Great scorer, can play SG and SF. Also not a poor defender - he averaged 1 bpg in his rookie season and 1.7 steals in his last season (03-04)

He is (extremely)crazy, but KG is a very good friend from their days at Minnesota.

He also has previously wanted big money (turning down a 7 million a year contract saying "I have a family to feed"), but since the federal government are repossessing almost everything he owns right now I think he'll sign for vet minimum.

Am I crazy/hopeful/stupid, or does this idea have some merit?

Sprewell hasn't played since the '04-'05 season.  He averaged 12.8 points per game back then; I'm pretty sure he's lost something in the four seasons he's sat out.  He'll also be 39 at the start of next season.

So yes, you're perhaps being just a little bit hopeful / crazy.

Hmm, if Steph was that rusty after not playing for a year and a bit @ 31 years old, imagine Sprewell after 4 years of not playing @ the age of 38 or whatever he is....

Well, if Dominique Wilkins could be had for the vet. minimum I would consider it. Dominique would then be the first 50 year old NBA athlete - I doubt he'd be able to throw it down like during his youthful days with the Hawks, lol.

Rodman was still playing past 40 years old, but 50? Maybe if you were like Ray or Reggie Miller and could just get open and hit perimeter shots, but still   :-\

This is crazy, he probably hasn't picked up a basketball in a long, long time.
