Where is that markketch guy that talked about this team like they were the best thing since sliced bread all season?

I love watching people eat crow.  Slurp it up, buttercup.

Their regular season was just as good as the Celtics regular season last year.

Great teams get beat. After all the C's of last year came very close against the Cavalier's. Again this was a factor of them matching up very well. Just as the Magic did.

Well even with identical regular seasons records of 66-16, these same 10 experts picked the Lakers to beat the Celtics 9-1, yet all 10 of them pick the Cavs.  They were wrong 19 out of 20.

He is a spoiled, petulant child, when Lebaby doesn't get his way he just runs off and pouts. He is a kid who has received all he has wished for his whole life, never went to college and has minimal real life experience, he has no idea how to act when things don't go his way. If you're not praising him, you are offending him.

Definitely agree with what Celtics said.

“It’s hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them,” he said. “I’m a winner. It’s not being a poor sport or anything like that. If somebody beats you up, you’re not going to congratulate them. That doesn’t make sense to me. I’m a competitor. That’s what I do. It doesn’t make sense for me to go over and shake somebody’s hand.”

Words of a spoiled kid who has been given everything.  That's no class right there.  Not doing an interview, that's no big deal, I couldn't care less about that.  But not congratulating the other team, that shows them no respect.  You don't even have to congratulate them, just say good game.  They just whooped your butts, I hope you at least think they played decent, not like the refs gave them that.  And these quotes from him, comes off just like a spoiled immature kid.  He says "It's not being a poor sport..." THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT IS!  I wonder what exactly LeBron thinks being a poor sport is.

I don't understand that quote either.  So if you lose you don't want to congratulate the other team, but if you win do you want to be congratulated by the other team and do you want the other team to go up and shake your hand.  I bet you do. What winner doesn't want to be congratulated and said "good game" to by the team they just beat.  Quote shows he is a poor sport.

I don't want to sound rude, but who cares? It's a press conference, it affects and means nothing. I'll never get why people yearn to listen to cliches.

who knows, people still always tune in to listen to the president talk, no matter who it is. Lebron is marketed as "the king", the savior of the NBA, and a role model to millions of kids, it does matter if he acts like a jerk and doesn't come out to say a few good words about his opponents after a hard fought series. Can you imagine John Mcain for example, not wanting to comment at all after losing to Obama? It's all scripted cliches, but it still matters. Silence in these cases speaks volumes.

I'm not American, their babble is equally pointless, we ignore our generic press conferences in Canada, we have real problems to concern ourselves with. Y'all treat your politicians the same way you treat low end Lindsay Lohan celebs, I don't understand that either.

This is just an excuse to complain about him, he's no less of a roll model for not telling us they came up short and they played tough, Orlando played a great series and he hopes he can turn it around next year. I'd do the same thing, the blind allegiance to all this stuff is exactly what Lebron doesn't do, and that's why he's money, the status quo's for everyone else. Nobody will remember in a week and he'll still inspire the world as much as ever when he steps on the floor again. He's probably doing it for hype like he did the New York thing, he's calculating, this wasn't based on pure emotion.

Lebron's quote makes no sense.  He doesn't want to congratulate someone who beats him.  Well who wants to see him throw up chalk before every game, who wants to see him flex and pose for pictures and do little skits on the sidelines before every game. Who wants to see him celebrate after every dunk like he won a world championship.  If he doesn't want to congratulate winners, how can he expect anyone to put up with the stuff he does before and during games. According to him, he wouldn't even congratulate himself.  Completley hypocritical.

I didn't really have a problem with him not shaking hands at the end because it's not always done in the NBA.  However, if those are his reasons that is just plain old poor sportsmanship.

I've always been the sort that loves winning, but would rather compete hard and lose, than win a non-contest.  Apparently Lebron's a winner, who hasn't won anything.  And to tell you the truth, if you look at a lot of the great players who were champions in the history of the NBA, they had to learn how to lose before they learned how to win.

I agree.  Lebron is entitled to his opinion, but to say "It’s not being a poor sport or anything like that. If somebody beats you up, you’re not going to congratulate them" is non-sensical.

I mean, to me, the very definition of being a "poor sport" is to refuse to admit that somebody beat you, fair and square.  Hockey is probably the most intense playoff sport, and those guys shake hands.  Boxers hug each other, after going 12 rounds.  If those guys can show a little respect for their competition, I would assume Lebron could bring himself to, as well.

I agree with RoyHobbs and Redz, and totally disagree with your statement. Lebron's quote further shows that he is a spoiled loser with no class. There really is no other way of looking at it. I always play hard to win, but opponents who play equally hard and can beat me gain even more of my respect. If he is such a winner and "inspirer", what has he won? He never played in the NCAA so he never won the final four, and he has never won an NBA title. I guess he inspires the world to be spoiled brats. That's great.

and if Lebron doesn't want to congratulate the Magic, fine.  if he doesn't want to say good game, talk to the media. fine.  Just cut your chalk throwing routine, cut you parading on the sidelines, and cut your OMG somebody just made a dunk on the Cavs hold everyone back routine if that is how you feel, because nobody wants to see that either.

well said, TP

I remember all of that garbage after they beat a wounded celtics team, and the abc commentators saying it was reflecting the fact that the are such a close knit group who loves to have fun. What a load of bs. You see if a group is close knit by how they face adversity, and this cavs team showed absolutely no signs of being close knit during the magic series, or afterwards, We will see even less evidence when guys start leaving the team (Ben Wallace, Varejao, J smith, and eventually, even LBJ).
