I get the Magloire thing from the perspective of him signing for the veteran's minimum, so number 4 works. But as for point 1, Magloire isn't "good." As for points 2 and 3, there is no reason why Magloire would ever play for us if we had Perkins, Garnett, Rasheed, Davis and Nocioni or Marion (either of whom would play some smallball minutes at the 4 in all likelihood) on the team, with Powe potentially coming back midseason.
Gortat is fine too, but you should be saying Gortat or Rasheed, not Gortat or Magloire, because Gortat is not coming here for the veteran's minimum OR the LLE. Even if he agreed to do so, Orlando would match the offer. He's gonna get well above the LLE from somebody this offseason so we'll need MLE money to get him. And IF for some crazy reason Rasheed decided to come here, it would cost the entire MLE.
I agree with the Marion thing - if he was a guy who would take a backseat, that would be fine, I just don't see why he would. Nocioni makes more sense, although I'm still lukewarm on it. Although he's only got two years left on his contract, so I would be fine with sending Scal and Tony Allen out in a trade. Giddens? I'd include him too, although I'm still trying to convince myself there's something there to salvage. But to get Nocioni, yeah, I'd give those guys up.
On Wafer, I think if House opted out, I'd go after him, but I don't see him signing for the LLE, he had a pretty nice run in Houston and probably made himself more than that. And again, to get any of the guys you're talking about for the front court, I think it'll take too much than we can pay under the CBA.
