"Saunders is now the head coach of the Washington Wizards and would strongly considering adding Marbury to the roster if there is a vacancy""

It would be a nice opportunity for Steph to be a starter again, and the Wizards will have a much better season next year with a healthier team. I still hope we can keep Marbury but it seems he really wants more minutes than the ones we may offer him

Honestly, if the Celtics don't get him, I would guess the Heat or possibly the Lakers.

From what I have heard, Marbury has been talking to Flip for more personal reasons than professional. Possibly looking for guidance.

Not really sure if that's the right call. For Steph and for the Wizards.

And if he is looking for more minutes, playing behind Arenas won't do him any better.
Some want to be like Mike, i wanted to be like Ryan.

The report is just Isola making stuff up because he has nothing else to write about.

It says nothing that would indicate Marbury going to the Wizards. Only that he was in contact with a former coach.

I HIGHLY doubt Marbury would want to play for the Wizard.

But why would he play behind Arenas? Isn't Arenas a shooting guard?

no, gilbert is the wizards PG. there's rumors they would like to move him to the 2 by drafting rubio, but for the moment he's a PG.

That's what they ought to do, he is a SG only, there is nothing about his game that says point guard.

Why is someone who gets sub-pg assist numbers and shoots more than anyone else on his team running at PG? I haven't seen Arenas play in so long I completely forgot he was running the point for them.

I think the wizards and gilbert agree with you, its just because they have horrible PG depth.

Thats one of the reasons there's pretty solid speculation they are trying to move up to 2nd or 3rd via trade to grab rubio and slide agent zero over to SG. the question is, will they be able to.

Washington got hosed in the lottery, i think they thought at worst they'd be 3rd and get a good shot at rubio.

I say they pick up Brandon Jennings if Rubio is picked up before their pick.

Thats what i'd do if i were them. the last ESPN draft i saw (which is probably awful) had them picking a PF, which made no sense to me. They need a PG, bad.

Arenas has played exactly 15 games in the last 2 NBA seasons. I'd say "behind" Arenas is the perfect place to wait for ample PT! ;D

If the Wizards want to give him more than the vet minimum, then good for him.  I think he will be a decent player next year, having an entire camp with a team.

I would love it if he could come back to the C's for the vet minimum, but if someone offers more, then I won't be that sad to see him go.
