Alright this may seem a little like a joke to some people. And admittedly it is at some points. However, looking over the off season posts I've noticed 2 things that are actually more important than this thread topic. One is that the only legitimate chance we have of landing a good PG is to buy our way into the draft and take someone decent still left after pick 19. Another issue, and I think more important is picking up a big man who CAN play center. Honestly we are all talking about grabbing the first 6'10 dude out there and plugging him into the lineup. We need someone who could really play big minutes for Perk and just realize that person might cost us.

On a serious note, the reason we didn't repeat as NBA champions is simple, we didn't bring back Gerald.

great way to get people to read your post. Gerald Green has to be the Celtics to fail the most gloriously with the most potential since Kedrick Brown.

I think there is no way we want a rookie back up point guard, we already have Pruitt. I think if we can sign Marbury that would be a good move because he certainly will get better this year.

As far as plugging any 6'10 player in and giving him big minutes I believe POB showed us that we can't do that. I think we'll end up getting Sheed, or McDyess, there are only a hand full of other that would be acceptable besides those.

I also would like to see a spark plug off the bench that can cut into PP and Rays minutes prolonging there career. Someone who can make make the bench survive without either Pierce or Allen in the game. In my opinion the answer to this problem is either Allen Iverson or Shawn Marion (neither of which will be had for the price we have to offer without a huge discount). Come on AI you know you want to win a championship in Boston
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The point guard argument is a good one. I don't really like the idea of having another Pruitt as our back up to Rondo. Of course we'd like to see Marbury shoot a little better; but then again he has as much to grow this off-season as anyone on the Celtics system. The nice thing about Steph is that he definitely knows his role with this team. If that mentality carries on to next season will yet to be seen.

We've got some holes to fill. If we re-sign Baby then it'll help somewhat. However, the POB/Mikki Moore deals never panned out. We honestly need a guy who CAN play center when needed. If that person is Rasheed Wallace then great.

Having someone dynamic who can play the 3 would be a luxury at this point given what we have to work with and our salary situation. Agreed 100% that having someone who had the potential to come in and play a big 2 or 3 would help Ray and Paul tremendously. With that being said...Gerald.

On a serious note, I think that Toine could have helped us a lot more this season than Mikki.

I am waiting for the "trading away Gerald Green is the reason that the Celtics didn't win a title this season" thread.

Correction, Green to Solomon, Will takes a backseat to no one!

My dad has a hat signed by Robert Parish and Gerald Green, who knew that Gerald would eventually bring the value of that item down so much?

I went to a Celtics game with my dad back in the bad days. I got my ticket autographed by Tommy it was real cool. his wife say this kid in front of my with #15 on his shirt and she was all like "My husband was #15." and no one know who she was and then she brings Tommy out and he signed my ticket and the kids hat. And then Gerald Green had to Come out to shoot around and suddenly when i saw him the ticket dropped in value by about 45%.
