Could he be a realistic player to pick up? I mean I don't think they have the money to sign Ariza and Odom. I would say they pay Ariza because he is the younger one of the two. I wonder if he would come off the bench for us. He would be perfect because he can do everything. Well what do you think?

I haven't liked him since he decked Ray Allen and went giggling to the bench.  His on-the-court mojo irks me.  He's probably a great player and it's been said he's popular with teammates, but I'l have to pass on a guy I don't' like who's also a Laker.

I know i did not forget when he tackled ray or when he slapped KG in the butt, But he could be a very good pickup and be the perfect slap in the face of the lakers! but the more i see matt barnes i wanted him last off-season so hopefully he will be the backup SF

Odom is the Laker's great underachiever. In a sense, he should be dominating in the paint making him & Kobe, a nightmare when together on the court. What I see instead is a lazy buffoon who turns it off more often then when he turns it on. All and all, that sort of player doesn't fit into a team which emphasizes achieving at one's real level of play, see this year's Perks, Rondo, and BBD stories. Yes, I agree, if Odom got his act together, I'd say... take him in a heartbeat.

Nah, I don't think he'll sign for the MLE.

If he does, and he was willing to sign with the C's, I'd absolutely love to have him come off the bench here.

Complete agreement. I don't see him signing for the MLE or lower, but if he would, he's the pick up of the off season.

No, it's not a realistic idea that we'd sign him.  Not realistic at all.

A man who is so stupid he runs on the court with the ball, when he's in bounding the ball, wouldn't be a big target in my book for FA's. Lamar is always really hot or really cold either way. Anyone remember when he was throwing down 15/15 games back in feb (or was it march..) like crazy. Now he's as cold as ice.

Yeah for all the crap Lamar Odom gets if you could get him on a 5 million a year contract he'd be an absolute steal.

Lamar "The Folder" Odom? No thanks.  He's a me 1st choker. He's the anti KG.

As a starting PF and finsihing player making 10+ million a year, sure. But as a MLE signing he'd be a steal. Though he has had issues coming off the bench.

It won't happen though so I wouldn't worry about it.

Not getting him at 5 million per to play on the bench IMO. He's not the best tactical fit - I'm pretty convinced he needs to play PF to be successful, but they could make that work.

All the folder stuff (and attitude stuff) goes away once the guy signs and your team is winning. At the end of the day Odom is remarkably talented and plays close (if not all the way) to that potential.

I'd rather sign a player that comes with a cheaper price tag and one that plays harder.

I concur, there's a reason why everyone on this and every other blog is down on Odom... he's the epitome of wasted talent. Really, I can see the Lakers of '08 beating us if Odom had given it his all against Powe, KG, and Perks thus inspiring Radmanovic and Gasol to raise their game to his level of intensity. Instead, he was this sort of intermittent player who essentially made the series, Kobe and his merry men, a laughable outing for the greatest offensive team of last year.
