Three NBA executives say that the Golden State Warriors are pushing Corey Maggette hard in trade talks.(Yahoo! Sports)

I remember reading around the deadline that along with Elton Brand and Baron Davis, Corey Maggette was one of those regretted signings from last offseason. Is there any chance the Warriors would give him up for expiring contracts and a pick? If so, do you think he would be a good fit as our 6th man? Scal, House and Allen have expiring contracts that matchup.

He's kinda a chucker, im not really sure he's what Were looking for. I want a defensive orenited Wing more than a volume shooter off the bench.

If they'd take TA and scal off our hands, and mabey throw in JR, sure, but i wouldn't throw house in.

Are you kidding?  They would give him up for just the expiring contracts.

I don't think the C's would have any interest in him however, unless the Warriors REALLY make them an offer they can't refuse.

I know the C's were interested him last year, but that was on a 1 year MLE deal.  They have no interest in bringing a guy like that in on a long deal where he is so overpaid.

Bad Pr0n would be a big talent upgrade for our bench. He would also fill our biggest need which is at the SF position.

But he's prone to over dribbling, bad shots, and turnovers. He also can dog it for full games at a time and is somewhat injury prone. I don't want to be paying him 10+ million for four more years.

Just say no to Bad Pr0n.

A great player that we could use. But his contract is just awful. The warriors just figured that out and want to dump it on someone else. He is due ~$40 million for the next 4 years.

Exactly. I would have loved to have had him for an MLE sized deal that we were discussing with him before the Warriors swooped in after they lost Baron Davis. But at 10 million per? We'd have to fill out the rest of our roster with minimum salary vets. I don't think he's that good.

lot of that going around, I'm looking at you NO  >:(

make our bench player a retarded offer length wise and come to your senses 30 games in, only to find out no one wants to trade for your awful contract...NBA GM'ing, it's fantastic!

You guys are way to hard on players in this league. He would be a huge upgrade over anyone on this team coming off the bench. I mean come on this is a guy that would be perfect for the second unit. He shoots 45% from the field, gets to the line where he shoots 81% for his career, and can knock down an open jumper. He also has the length to play great D as long as he buys in, and i think anyone is capable to buy into playing D if marubry bought into it! please celts if we could get this guy that would be a huge!

Meh, when he's healthy (which is never) I like how aggressive he is and how often he gets to the line. His aggressiveness is also what causes him to miss so many games with injuries. The man simply cannot stay healthy IMO.

Why would I be kidding? Teams are going to be giving up talented players because of the economy and to get under the cap for the 2010 season

1 year deal? I see nothing indicating that the Celtics offered anything short of the MAX MLE in terms of years and money.

Looks like the Dubs are pushing Maggette out, but is any team actually interested in pulling him in right now? Maggette has 4 years left on his deal after this season (2009-2010: $8.9 million, 2010-2011: $9.6 million, $10.3 million, $10.9 million).

For that money, no thank you.  I was a fan of throwing the MLE for one year at him last year but, soon after, realized that the best decision was the one we didn't make.

I wouldn't want Maggette for the full MLE, let alone for his highly toxic contract.

MLE for 1 year? where are people getting this? Can someone link me? There were never "years" mentioned. And for the Celtics to have any shot whatsoever in making that signing it would have been the MAX MLE (in terms of years)

I'm just saying that even in a (hypothetical) short, smaller deal I wouldn't want him.

Maggette is a plain bad player, he's much worse than his stats.
