Perk was the mvp for us in that series.  It might sound odd but I think danny did a great job in keeping perk and moving big al.  We basically got kg for al and perk compliments him great.  Perk is still a kid and has shown to be one of the best low post defenders in the league.  Next year I'd expect some more scoring, same shot blocking and defending.
Work on your FOOTWORK and jumper this offseason big guy!

Perkins has improved his game by leaps and bounds, including the first signs of a low post offensive game. He's an above-average defender and an excellent rebounder.

His overall improvement has been excellent. He can improve his offensive game in the off-season.

As physical as Howard is, he couldn't move Perk.  Perk wouldn't let him set up deep in the post, and when he did get the ball, he wasn't giving him an inch.  Yeah, that running hook isn't such a great shot when he's taking it from the free-throw line.

Howard admitted in his press conference after their series with us that Perk gave him problems during the series and that he has to work on some things in the off season that he feels that will help him play better next season aganist Perk.Sounds like a guy who respects Perks game to me.

I think they trained at the same place when they were coming in to the NBA right? I remember a fluff piece that said they actually are pretty good friends and worked out together at cliff's big man camp each summer...but im not sure where i watched it...it might have been in a dream  :D

Is Perk a better center than Andrew Bogut?

The numbers don't say so, but I think we can all agree that at least 30-40% of Perks true value to us as a team has nothing to do with numbers.

He's a better defender than Bogut by a good margin. Bogut is a superior rebounder and offensive player, when healthy.

So yes I think Bogut is a better player overall, but its close.

That sums it up perfectly for me.

Its amazing the value that Perk brings out on the floor when he's not in foul trouble.  If he has finally made the turn on keeping out of foul trouble, it'll be HUGE for this team.

His strength and toughness is what gave Howard problems, IMO.  I can't think of many players in the NBA who have as much strength as Perk.

At the rate Rondo and Perk are improving along with Ray, Pierce and KG, there are not going to be any unretired numbers left for future Celtics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot wait to visit the Hall of Fame in 20 years to the see the 2009-2010 Celtics Wing!!!!!!!

Perk is a Beast!

4:13 KDonhoops:  Kendrick Perkins can, so, yes.

GOod point...I mean CLE only allowed Dwight Howard 30 points, his highest since april 24th, even though they have probably the deepest front court rotation in the NBA..but yeah if Kendrick Perkins can do it, anyone can.

NOTE: KDonhoops is Kelly Dwyer

People still don't like to acknoweledge that Perkins can ball for some reason. The usual over emphasis on hard dunks, high jumping, and scoring I guess.

what surprised me the most about perk this year was his offense. he has actually developed one.

far less of the "ok, got the rebound. now i get set, bring the ball below my waist, look up, and now starting to shoot..."

now he goes up quicker for his shots.

his hook shots now longer travel near supersonic speed and bounce off the backboard.

his lay ups and hook shots now have a nice, softer touch on them, which is great.

and while i still flinch when i see him take a jump shot 10+ feet from the basket, it seems to be a credible shot for him now.

now if he can just develop all those AND not get called for silly offensive fouls, he would be more than adequate offensively.

when KG comes back perk's offense may disappear again. or.....he may play enough offense to give KG a bit of break.

but i still like perk. :)
