Trade ID #5077502 from Real Gm.

The following hypothetical situation occurs:  Ok. City gets to draft Blake Griffin.

following that hypothetical situation, Ok. City sign Big Baby as their starting center and goes ahead with the followiing trade:

Jeff Green, Nick Collison, Earl Watson and Thabo Sefolosha for Ray Allen and Gabe Pruitt.

Ok. City starting lineup:

Baby
Griffin
Durant
R. Allen
Westbrook

Celtics roster:

Perk, Collison, Swift
KG, McDyess, Powe
Jeff Green, Sefolosha, Walker
Pierce, Ross, Giddens
Rondo, House, Watson

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Yuck...

Didn't Chicago get a 1st rndr from OK for Sefolosha- I doubt they want to give him up, even though he is pretty useless...Jeff Green is decent and all, but I really don't see the point, since we traded Green to get Allen in the first place two years ago(plus Wally and Delonte)...

I say stick with Allen, unless something REALLY good comes up- although I am not against acquiring assets from OK- just not into giving them Allen...

Pierce is way too slow to play the two guard these days.

Pierce as a 2, and Baby as a 5. Both the same height.

Thought that might be a problem and asked about it the other day.

So Green backs of Pierce and also plays a good deal at the 4 spot.

On the other hand, Pierce could start at the 2 when matched up against other large 2 guards like Joe Johnson.

My goal for next year is to go back to being the #1 defensive team in the league.  Not sure we can do this without getting larger and a bit younger.

We'd have been the #1 defensive team this year with a healthy KG. We can do it next year.

I'm pretty sure if you posted that idea on an OKC board, you'd get the same negative reaction that you're getting from Celtics fans.  It's a terrible deal from their perspective.

Of course, it's moot now, as it seems to have been contingent upon getting Griffin.
