The funny aprt is, reading all the stuff avaiable on this... I don't really see how the nuggests have a leg to stand on if the WWE wants to push it.

The leg they stand on is that legally, courts almost never order "specific performance".  In other words, it's very, very unlikely that the WWE can get interim relief to force the arena to allow the WWE to perform on Monday night.

The Nuggets will play, and the WWE will file a lawsuit, which they will ultimate win (or more likely, settle favorably.)  You're correct that contractually, the WWE is in the right here.

right, i understand that the WWE cant get the nuggets thrown out of thier own building, but that would be a huge ironclad lawsuit.

I mean, forget the 600k or so that they would net on tickets, then you throw in the merch, which god knows how much they move, their cut of the concessions, ect, ect.

And that's just on sight at the arena, whats the financial worth of putting the highest rated live cable show off the air financially to USA? Raw pulls a 7.0 or so, and is USA's flagship program, USA would want a huge chunk of cash out of the nuggetts, and the WWE would sue for damages to their image that canceling a live episodic show would cause.

Can the nuggets as a organization really afford to push that?

Now, im sure what will happen in reality is Vince will stay firm until the nuggets buy him off, probably double the cost of the tickets (as Vince will have to refund them, plus he'll want the revenue) plus whatever above and beyond he gets, but still crazy to think about.

Looks like Mark Cuban is finally gonna get that cage match with JR Smith that he wanted.  If Vince is smart he will have Cuban show up at the arena, brilliant business move.

Just an FYI Crownsy, Raw runs around 4.0 nowadays, they haven't pulled 7s in ratings since the Attitude Era.  Doesn't really matter at all, just thought I would point it out.

So they'll get paid, one way or the other. It is just a matter of how much they will get from the Nuggets and the NBA.

my bad then, but that's still a pretty impressive number for a non-network show, and big for USA, just used it to point out that if the NBA thinks there going to just push the WWE out because they have more clout, its not really that cut and dry.

A lot of those damages -- especially lost profits and other consequential damages -- are very tough to prove, and a lot of times are specifically barred by contracts.  They'll recover what they can prove, but speculative damages generally aren't recoverable.  In the end, the WWE may accept a reimbursement on all ticket sales, actual expenses incurred to date plus other incidental damages related to the breach (i.e., being forced to set up at a new location, etc.) plus a slight premium.  In the end, the publicity for the WWE will be worth a ton.

I'm really interested in what's going to happen here too, for pretty much all the same reasons Crownsy gave.

Could this also mean the end of WWE in Denver forever?
When I was reading different solutions given by the Bleacher Report one thing they mentioned was
Quote
Denver is really tough for this to happen in since they don't have a second viable arena like a Phoenix, Miami, or Minneapolis has—and it's not really near a lot of other cities.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/178620-10-solutions-to-the-wwe-nuggets-pepsi-center-fiasco

So based on that I would think that the Pepsi Center is really the only spot nearby that WWE would ever host an event.  Obviously this whole thing could leave the Pepsi Center very bitter with the WWE, and vice versa.  Maybe after all this is over, the Pepsi Center doesn't welcome back the WWE.  Or maybe the WWE refuses to book itself in the Pepsi Center again, leaving the greater Denver area without the WWE which would really suck for the real WWE fans out there.

Really curious to see what happens here too.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I think the NBA is also forgetting that Vince, while a tremendous business man, does not always think rationally, and by some accounts is completely insane  ;D.  He also has a huge ego, so if the NBA thinks he will back down, they are wrong.
