So it seems like the Nuggets need an arena for Gm. 4. Well if Denver is not an option, where could the Nuggets find a venue where the crowd would be filled with people rooting against the Lakers. Hmm...

Pretty ridiculous mismanagement by somebody.  I'm assuming that the television dates are already locked in, meaning the NBA can't easily switch the game to another night.

I'll be interested to see how this one works out.

That'd be pretty cool--having the Nuggets play in our arena as the home team. A very interesting experience, and a great opportunity to rain boos on all the Faker jerks.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Hehe ... actually Boston may be one of the better places to play a home game, at least NBA venue wise.

Would there be anywhere else that would give such positive support for the Nuggets? And such negative support for the Lakers?

The return in home white of Chauncey Billups to the Garden (well he played in the Fleetcenter...semantics. lol). Also, would satisfy all the celticbloggers (like myself) that wanted to see the Birdman here.

I'd also get to bust out my sign "Things To Do in Denver When Your Kobe" Sign is NSFW

Well Stan Kroenke is a little bit like the owner from "Major League" or the owner from "The Natural"...the judge. He wasn't expecting to win and be in the WCF. He basically sold Marcus Camby. Then when he got a guy to replace him in McDyess, he bought him out. I could see him taking the money from the WWE.

In terms of the Natural analogy, Allen Iverson would be "Boomer"  Consider the Billups trade the wall Boomer ran through.

Are we talking about the same Boston Garden in which Kobe Bryant was recieving "MVP" chants 2 years ago?   Apparently when The C's are not playing well (or at all, I would guess) this isn't a totally anti-lakers place.

pppeppThose fans wouldn't be let in. Only fans (and former Laker teammates) who hate Kobe  8)

YAY to me on 2000 posts :) I'd like to thank my fellow celticsbloggers, the Celtics/Bulls game threads, occasional insomnia, and Will Solomon. Without all this would not be possible.  8) :D

Thanks Roy. Only 19 behind you. Look Out! ;)

Vince McMahon weighs in on ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4176082  Am I the only one that is excited about the drama that would occur if things aren't amicably resolved? You know the WWE likes the publicity, so I could see them holding out.

The funny aprt is, reading all the stuff avaiable on this... I don't really see how the nuggests have a leg to stand on if the WWE wants to push it.

I mean, i know we all dismiss wrestling in this day and age, but the WWE has a signed contract from april 15th entitling them to that date, and they've already sold out that arena at 50 bucks a pop, plus started to send in all the crazy production equipment that goes with a 3 hour live TV event.

At this point, you would think it would be easier for the NBA to A) cave, and move the game a day forward (not like anyone would notice yet another off day in the playoffs) or B) run the game earlier in the day, like at noon, so the arena can be changed over for the 9 PM show.

Its funny to me in that article how the NBA league rep just dismisses the WWE and assures people the nuggets will work it out. Why should the WWE open itself up to litigation from USA networks if it puts the live show on hold or have to scramble to relocate to another venue just because the Denver nuggets ownership is incomptent? The WWE should hold the line, they have an air tight case between booking 9 months in advance and having not one, but two signed contracts, one as recent as last month.

be interesting to see what happens :D

The leg they stand on is that legally, courts almost never order "specific performance".  In other words, it's very, very unlikely that the WWE can get interim relief to force the arena to allow the WWE to perform on Monday night.

The Nuggets will play, and the WWE will file a lawsuit, which they will ultimate win (or more likely, settle favorably.)  You're correct that contractually, the WWE is in the right here.
