i'm sure we all have games that we remember but there is one that stands out in my mind that represents what Celtic Pride and Tradition is all about...I've mentioned this before but nobody has picked up on it before...last game of the 1988 ECF against Detroit...the Celtics are banged up beyond repair...it really was the last hurrah of Bird, McHale, Parish, DJ and Ainge...if you remember...both McHale and Parish had problems with their ankles...everytime they went down you that they weren't getting up...both DJ and Ainge had their thighs wrapped...and Larry was already having back problems...they are losing to Detroit in Detroit in elimination game of 1988 ECF...Celtics are down by 10 with just under a minute left...the game is pretty much over...even when thought it was never over with Larry...the Pistons are on a 3 on 1 or 3 on 2 fastbreak and they are at the top of the circle...then you see Larry sprinting back at halfcourt...he is totally out of the play...i never saw him run that hard in all the games I watched...he never got in the play and the Celtics lost...then I knew why he stole the ball and why he was such a great player...he never gave up...and that is what Celtic Pride and Tradition has always been...going back to Russell, Cousy, Sharman, Tommy, Satch, the Jones boys, Hondo, Nelson, Jo Jo, Cowens, Larry, McHale, Parish, DJ, Ainge, Paul and the rest...
